I see nothing's changed when it comes to Brandao's promises.

All the flight tracking services offer a data sharing option for the DVB-T SDR/RPi combo.  All except AirNav.

It's now over 12 months since Brandao reported that one was being devloped:

Copied. We don't yet have a data feeder for Linux but we are devloping (sic) one.

Things looked to be making progress when he reported, back in November 2016, that one would be released in mid-December:

Hi

Thanks for your email,. We are preparing a brand new raspberry pi feeder software but it is not yet available. We believe, taking in account the current development, that it will be ready in 4-6 weeks.

Regards, Andre Brandao
AirNav Systems

Needless to say, there's no sign of it.

As they say, leopards don't change their spots.

Either Brandao is poor at estimating development timescales or can't get out of the habit of over promising and under delivering?  But, over 4 months later than promised, it looks like AirNav has finally released an RPi based feed:

Hi All

We are working hard on RadarBox24.com and trying to make one of the best flight tracking websites with more and more user requested feature added.

We currently track flights using 6 different sources:
ADS-B, MLAT, FAA ASDI, Oceanic Reports, CPDLC and Estimated flight position.

One of the latest additions to the site was our first Raspberry Pi client.
It has passed an extensive beta testing stage and is now released - we are looking for more feeders so we may find if we have additional problems that needs some application upgrades.

Please check The Raspberry Page page here:
https://www.radarbox24.com/raspberry-pi

And our blog entry:
https://www.radarbox24.com/blog/radarbox24-raspberry-pi-client

Current list of RPI feeders (still small but improving daily :-) ) https://www.radarbox24.com/stations/raspberry-pi

One of the major advantages is that sharers are able to check their RadarBox MyStation page where their own flights are tracked and more great features will be added in the near future.

Example:

Hope you enjoy this new development.

I received an email from The Chief Thief - trying to teach me how to program a Raspberry-Pi and the use of his Over-Priced Made-in-China dongle.

Programming a Raspberry-Pi and use of the USB Dongle was the Subject I started in the another forum about 3 years ago.

It looks like AirNav (Brandao) takes a little bit longer than most to wake up in the mornings.

Three years later he (eventually) releases an RPi based data feed.

Although he's way behind FlightAware, FR24 and PlaneFinder in total locations, they each have around 12,000 comparable feeds, the RPi is now AirNav's best performing option.  However, the high percentage of offline feeds should be cause for concern.

The data shown below comes from AirNav's own stats for active feeds over the last 14 days:

TypeLive   Offline   Total
ComStation   227   100327
PlanePlotter9247139
RadarBox210306516
RPi25340293
Windows13986225
Total9215791500

Hopefully most didn't buy his overpriced Micro RadarBox.  Or his accessories that are also grossly overpriced.

Sorry to reply to this months late and digging up an old post for data.

So, the lies is exposed - its now only hundreds, not thousands, as originally claimed.

I noticed in AirNav website, it no longer claimed 'tens of thousands of receivers" feeding the network.

More AirNav lies:

"We are going to lock this post as its clearly indicated at causing trouble. sardus2 you know exactly how to contact us (as you have done in the past under your many different usernames) but just creating a post to cause trouble.

Also the RB boxes given for coverage amount to less than 1% of the boxes sold, also they were only started to be given out 5 years after the product was launched. "

Now when I was at school, if 50 was 1%, 100% = 5,000.

But AirNav has sent out nearer 100 free boxes, so that suggests 10,000 sold.

Hmm?  My best guess is 3,000 sold, not 10,000.

Unquote.
