Hmm. They are all still on the server.

If I right click on the small image icon in the message and select "Open image in new tab", the image opens.

Just reinserted a link below and same happens,

So perhaps there has been a change by the provider that does not allow direct linking to the server.

I need to investigate further.

Further investigation.

Works ok in FireFox but not in Chrome or Edge  :'(

I'll add a note to original post

Not working for me in Firefox Ian. I see a warning about an SSL error.

If I right click on the "frame" in your forum post and select "view image" and then click on advanced I get the attached.

Strange.  Working OK for me in Firefox!

And entering the url directly in Chrome works too.

But not in an IMG holder?

I upgraded the Forum to the latest release yesterday and maybe there's an issue.  I'll take a look.

I can't find any setting that needs changing and I can link OK to external images.  Both http and https sites.

So not sure why we can't see Ian's images?

Your images are showing properly Mike.

The only other comment I can add is about the certificate. Firefox does state that there are problems as per the screen grab I posted:

Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for ihld.co.uk. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.footholds.net, footholds.net

Viewing part of the certificate details shows the image attached. Something to do with a GoDaddy cert not being applicable to Ian's own domain perhaps?

"footholds.net" is the server for TSOHost where my files are located.

Spent several hours yesterday via "chat" trying to get FTP to my files working. Eventually worked it out for myself. Used to be an SFTP connection in Filezilla but now an FTPS connection. Obvious? Not unless you are up to date and know the difference.

With an increasing use of SSL and https, looks like a need to be aware of certificates.

But these cost money and "self-certificated" don't work. I was reading a review of TSOHost yesterday and they were criticised for lack of free "Lets Encrypt" certificates. Just checked and they now seem to offer these so I need to investigate again  ::)

Becoming more difficult and am feeling less inclined to be bothered with all this stuff.

This forum has an SSL cerificate that I had to pay for via LCN, the original hosting provider.

When I switched to Krystal, the SSL came free.  Lots of hosting providers now include a free SSL cerificate.
