I use something called Hypersnap:

It's not free but not expensive either.  Been using it for years.

I'm sure there are alternative products that do a similar job.

If you open an existing logo you can easily create a black background.

Can you confirm you want the current style i.e nose & tail (as its called)

The USAF AC-130 request is for any aircraft not the one mentioned in the link ?
