Hi Frank

The Puck has a smaller footprint and compared to an SBS-1, should be more "sensitive".  Decodes more aircraft messages and should increase the number of contacts.

The Puck shares the same board config as the SBS-3 which is more expensive but adds an SDR radio and Ethernet connectivity.  The Puck is USB only.

English is now the second language in London.  ;)

It decodes the same messages, just a few more than the SBS-1.  Maybe 10-15% more.  But it may get different results in other parts of the world.

Does the Puck decode Mode A/C? The SBS-1/1e/1eR do not.

You'd have to ask Kinetic.  I suspect it doesn't.

My reference was to the number of Mode-S messages that the later model SBS/Puck decodes.
