missing ftd2xx.dll
« on: October 02, 2013, 07:09:21 PM »
Guys HELP

Ive installed a new copy of basestation 179 onto my new desktop, and the following message keeps appearing:

"The program can't start because ftd2xx.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

I have reinstalled 3 times and also double clicked the CDM20814 file as well.

Im running Win7 and my SBS3 is connected to ethernet.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in anticipation.
Andy.

When you did the install did you accept the Win7 offered folder location - Program Files?

If you do a search for the dll does Windows find it anywhere?  And have you set the folder options to show hidden and protected files?

I accepted the offered location. C/program files/kinetic/basestation

I have set to the option to show hidden files.

And have just searched for the file and it's found it an old basestation cd file no130. So I've just copied it and put it on the desktop.

Where should I put it?
Andy.

Ok, I clicked on BS and it has opened and is now working but I now have two desktop.ini files (feint) on the desktop along with the ftd2 file. Whoops. Can they be deleted.

Sorry,
Andy.

Copy it to the Basestation folder in the Virtual Store.

Thanks guys, all seems to be working ok. However it's very slow, the clock stops and then jumps to the correct time and then stops again. It never seems to catch up and just run on time.. Any ideas
Andy.

I always put FTD2xx.dll int the C:\Windows\System32 directory - works fine from there as well.
