Hi All,

I have set up MM2 on a remote receiver but I'm not 100% its working as I'm not receiving anything on my VRS at my home location, attached are some screenshots of the status page and programming and also how I have VRS set up, do these look correct?

Any help greatfully received.

Cheers

Hi

I presume that you are able to remotely log in to the pi @ 192.168.8.139, so you can connect to it. And that this pi also has a SDR and decoder attached and installed so you can see the messages received locally on the pi.

It looks from the VRS set up that you have not told the receiver of the IP address of the remote pi. Under the Network section the address appears blank.

I'm no expert on this and I have never used MM2 on a local or a remote feeder, but that is what jumped out at me when looking at your screenshots.

Regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,

Yes the Pi is running PiAware with the ProStick Plus, all working great locally.

I was under the impression that if its a push receiver I don't need the IP address as it just listens on the specified port, worth checking though and I will give that a go. :)

Hi

Is the remote receiver remote to your home network? Or is it in the same network?

If the Rx is on the same network as the VRS then just create a standard receiver that mirrors the setting to your local receiver, but change the IP address. Although from looking back at your screenshots I think that your remote Rx is just that, remote to the home network. In which case I am probably in a bit over my head as you may need to undertake port forwarding to access the data from the remote.

To manage and receive data from remote receivers I use a programme called ZeroTier which is talked about in this gitbook guide https://mikenye.gitbook.io/ads-b/. I have two remote feeders and a 'portable' laptop based feeder all based on the information in the link.

Cheers,
Richard

Thanks Richard, that info looks promising.

What you have is similar to what I want to do, I want to acess my home feeder (already setup) and remote receiver on my desktop at home, then be able to access the remote and home feeders from my laptop when I'm away.

Cheers
