Title: Flightradar24.com
Post by: TEDDYBEAR on July 12, 2012, 12:06:52 PM
On checking aircraft flights for yesterday I have noticed that no data has been shown.
Can anyone tell me if this is a fault or has something changed. It shows the present flight which directs you to flightradar24 but nothing else.

Thanks
Bryan

Just tried Playback for yesterday, 08:00 UTC and no flights are showing.

Then I remembered seeing a post on the FR24 forum (which I didn't read) but have found:

"We had a problem with the server yesterday and have no data saved from 15:25 UTC and it looks like the data is still not being saved now @ 12:50 UTC, so there must be a problem with the server.

Playback before yesterday @ 15:25 is working.

Hi guys, looking on FR24, and looking at the USA, there are wild "hex" codes on there. If I took my SBS and ran ADLite while over there, would it pick up the correct hex/registration/serial for any aircraft I might see?

John

Some of the FR24 USA data comes from the FAA (orange aircraft) without a hex code.  If FR24 can't match the aircraft to a known hex code it will use a false one.

If you take a Mode-S receiver to the USA and ran AD Lite, it will work fine as the FAA non-hex data wouldn't be received.
