There have been lots of similar flights over the UK in the last few weeks.  Usually when there's no cloud!

Currently perfectly clear skies here. So that matches.

Seems that due to the low traffic all such flights have picked up.

I read somewhere that the calibration flight for the airport landing system which normally are done at night have have also been shifted to daytime.
Much to the surprise of people living near the otherwise idle airports.
All of a sudden they see a small plane flying all sorts of strange patterns around the airport - some called the police thinking it was an emergency or even terrorists.
