Please put your Operator Flag (ICAO and Non-ICAO) Requests in this thread.
Rik
Could you oblige with the following please, most local NW around Barton, G-BFZD Cessna 182 RG, www.airplane-pictures.net/photo/611807/g-bfzd-private-cessna-172-rg-skyhawk-cutlass/ G-OBIO Robinson R22, www.jetphotos.com/photo/9467824, G-PINO Rotorsport MTO Sport, www.flickr.com/photos/l8rmt/45210313835, and finally N759AU Cessna R182, www.flickr.com/photos/egcb_egcc/33754693434. I assume I am not asking you to break any copyright laws by viewing these photos to get the colour schemes? Thanks in advance for your excellent work, promise no more for a while, Robin
Hi Rik
Can you please do me a operator flag for the aircraft N703GT, which has now been transferred to Polar Air Cargo from Southern. Also could you do me a flag for the York Gliding Centre Please. https://www.yorkglidingcentre.co.uk.
Sorry Rik, can I have one for the Spitfire G-OXVI as well :)
Thanks
Ben
No problem, Ben. I'll get on those when I am back at home. :)
Thanks Rik and could you do me one for the Italian Airforce Gulfstream Aerospace E-550A CAEW please :)
I think I got them all done and posted. If I have missed any let me know. :)
Sorry Rik, can I have a flag for the aircraft, TF-ICP - ICELANDAIR (SPECIAL) B737 MAX8.
Thanks
Hi Ben
Try searching for ICE-B38MB. You should already have it downloaded so just add a B at the end of the Operator ICAO name in the DB. Suffix P for pink tail and Y for Yellow tail.
Any probs let me know.
Thanks Rik, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Can you do me a flag for the aircraft, 9M-MAG, Malaysia Airlines please.
Thanks
Ben
Hi Ben
Try MAS-A359MN
Malaysia Airlines seem to have two different c/s on the A350-941 and other frames. The mostly white version is MAS-A359 and the other is as listed above. The MN does stand for something, but I can't remember what.
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rikgale/VRSOperatorFlags/main/OperatorFlagsList.csv
Above is the list of all the op flags I have done - so you can always run a search (Ctrl + F) on the Operator ICAO code (e.g. MAS) on that if you are looking for something - or search in the gallery ;)
Hi Rik, can you possibly do me a Operator Flag for G-IWPI (GB Helicopters) please
Thanks
Ben
All done, mate.
thanks Rik, sorry found another :( . Can you do me one for N453PA when you get a sec please, it's now Atlas Air from Polar.
Ben
Oh there will be plenty of tweaks and changes ... keep 'em coming
Hey Rik, can you do me a Buzz B38M but it's in Ryanair colours ( SP-RZO ) please. I couldn't see any in the gallery but you know me I'm blind at the best of times :)
Cheers
Ben
Not blind my friend.... there is not one in the gallery. I will get on to that today.
Thanks mate :)
All done. Updated the DB entry for that reg you put. If you find anymore let me know and I'll tweak so they filter through.
I will do, thanks again for doing that for me :)
Hi Rik , can you do me a logo for SX-VVO , it's an Aegean Airlines GLF5 please
Thanks
Ben
All done. Needed something to distract, so perfect timing.
Thanks very much mate, got another one for you :) N247WE the WWE Jet Services GL5T and SE-RLU from Grafair which seems to be in an air ambulance scheme? when you get some time please.
Done the WWE one... and then noticed SE-RLU, better go do that one now.
Edit: Now done.
Thanks very much mate
Hey Rik, I've found a special one for you to do please :) , can you do one for CC-SWV JetSMART, I managed to find a picture of it eventually lol https://aibfamily.flights/registration/CC-AWV
thanks
Ben
Lol - not that special ;) There was a prev frame, CC-AWM, which had the same tail art, but was wfu in Nov 21 and transferred to Volaris as XA-VSI.
Hi Rik, can you do me a flag for M-ABRB Ryanair LJ45 please :) when you get a moment, sorry and also can you do one for G-HMGC, the Coast Guard King Air with the radar underneath please.
Thanks
ben
Just got another, could you do me a flag for JetSmart CC-AWR please. ;D
Ben
I have done this one. Just need to post it. :)
Hey Rik, can you do me a flag for this Voluxis E55P G-RNDX please. :)
Ben
All done. Enjoy!
Thanks very much Rik, have a good weekend ;D
Hi Rik, can you do me a flag for OY-SYA , Maersk Air Cargo , B763 please.
Thanks
Ben
All done.
I have just called it SRR-B763. Need to re badge the old Star Air sides with the Maersk Logo and those will be SRR-B763OLD / SRR-B762OLD as it seems that most of the fleet is still wearing the Star Air livery.
I got a mass of stuff to post up (mostly silhouettes - about 100 standard and similar number of DV), I just keep getting distracted.
Thanks Rik, will leave you alone so you can get them put up ;D
Please keep requesting... it's a job that I have been putting off for weeks! You not requesting will not make any difference to my motivation on that front;) So please keep going.
Been distracted building a Pi NAS box with media server - 1x 8GB Pi, 1x240GB SSD (boot drive) 2x2TB SSD (RAID1) and 2x8TB HDD (RAID1) running OpenMediaVault with JellyFin as the media streaming service, it also handles a WireGuard VPN, ZeroTier End Node, duckdns IP updater and at somepoint will also be a Pi-Hole (probably, if I can be ar$3d). All wrapped in an Argon EON case. Xmas vouchers and overtime well spent!
Can we get some Operator Flags for the Swedish Police Helis? :D
All the helis with registration numbers and photos are here:
https://nordicrotors.com/companies/swedish-police-wing
EDIT: Oh some of them are wrecked, let me get you the actual list
These are all alive and well:
SE-HPG
SE-HPK
SE-HPR
SE-JPU
SE-JPX
SE-JPS
SE-JPR
SE-JPV
SE-JPY
SE-JPT
SE-JPN
SE-JPO
The Jxx ones are the new ones, all are Bell 429. The Hxx ones are the old helis, but they are still registered and working.
Btw if you are bored some day, here are all the registered helicopters in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland:
https://nordicrotors.com/aircraft/all
Lots of cool aircraft there :D
I'll probably do one for each type of heli in your police list.
I'm never gonna that bored ;)
Hey rikgale, how about USN TH-57C (code B06)?
Can do - Interestingly enough I did one of the new TH-73A Thrashers whilst doing the navy T-45
Thanks for the photo - saves me a job ;)
EDIT: Oh jeez, I just realized the WC-130s are already in there, as RCH-WC130J. I'd searched for *C30J* and thus didn't see them. Nevermind about them, lol.
Got another one (two). The 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, better known as the Hurricane Hunters, fly the WC-130J out of Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS; externally they're mostly just C30Js but with such a unique mission it'd be cool if they had their own flag. A distinguishing mark might be the black stripe on the tail:
The other candidates are the NOAA WP-3D Orions, N42RF (A52242) and N43RF (A4FAC3), which have a bulbous radome under the fuselage and a fat stinger housing a tail radar in place of the magnetic anomaly detector stinger on subhunting P-3s:
These apparently should use an ICAO operator code of NOA (https://www.avcodes.co.uk/airlcoderes.asp), which might deserve its own generic operator flag considering they have at least nine or ten aircraft (https://www.omao.noaa.gov/learn/aircraft-operations/aircraft), DHC-6s, B350s, and a Gulfstream IV in addition to the P-3s.
Also, noticed an error: the WB-57 Canberras, used by NASA, have the filename `NASA-WB58.bmp`. (Though it would be incredibly cool to have weather/observation B-58 Hustler conversions. Alas.) Should be NASA-WB57.bmp
Thanks for the heads up on the typo.
Others added to the to-do list.
FYI - Some of the military/special stuff is named by model code rather than icao model code, but glad you found the WC-130
Heya, can we get a generic flag for the Mexican Air Force (ICAO: FAM)? There's a FAM-B738, but I've picked up a FAM GLF5 flying around, and given my location I'm sure I'll see more FAM planes in the future.
@Dziban I think I got all your requests covered.
@Johnex - still got your heli's to do
Got another one. NASA T-38s like N917NA/ACB1D9:
All done :)
Fat Albert, the USMC C-130J used by the Navy's Blue Angels, just popped up on my feeder. I think it probably deserves a unique flag. AE6963/170000. Here's a good side shot:
Also, I made a generic NASA flag for the GLF5s and others which don't have a custom logo; if it's up to standards, feel free to include it. I always liked the worm logo.
Blue Angels already done - special name.
https://radarspotting.com/forum/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=97597
Thnx for the NASA flag. I may tweak to add NASA logo as well. If there are NASA GLF5 that you want doing I can have a go at those too. Pic(s) appreciated (or a registration will do)
Edit: Did logo, GLF5 and also a P3.
You're amazing, thanks.
Today I see a USAF C-26B (unusual ICAO 520274 / 94-0264), and though it appears there're US Army and Navy flag variants, there's none for RCH. It's also coded as a civilian, so an addition for LocalAircraft.txt
520274 mil # SW4 94-0264
Recent photos of this type show plain white with some pinstripes:
Gotta catch 'em all!
Cheers
That Blue Angels C-130 looks great. It is an ex-RAF C-130 (ZH885). I was surprised the US Navy bought an ex-RAF C-130, when the USAF, etc have plenty of them already.
A lot of the U S Navy C130's come to Marshalls of Cambridge for maintenance and that is were the Blue Angels one was modified to its current state.
Caught another odd one today, a USAF E-9A (AE27A6/84-0047), based on the DH8A, with a radar on the right side.
Here's a good view of the left side for the operator flag:
Might actually consider using the left side, so the radar is visible, but then flip it horizontally so its' pointing the right way:
But I couldn't find a perfect, shadowless, daylit shot. Here's Jetphotos selection: https://www.jetphotos.com/aircraft/Bombardier%20E-9A (https://www.jetphotos.com/aircraft/Bombardier%20E-9A)
Cheers
So based on the amount of US Dept. of Homeland Security B350 spyplanes flying around the Gulf, I think it'd be worthwhile to have a generic DHS flag and/or a flag specific for the B350. I have no idea what other DHS planes are out there.
Here's a transparent PNG with the DHS seal and their typefaced title:
A custom flag for NASA's Super Guppy N941NA/AD120C might be worth doing too, as it's such an iconic bird.
Cheers
Done the guppy already - did it when working through the list you put on GH. USDHS I'll get on it.
Ah, a Civil Air Patrol c172 appeared, N389CP / A47CF9. CAP should probably have a organizational flag as its the civilian auxiliary force of the USAF. Mostly known for helping with search and rescue. Looks like WP has their logo:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Air_Patrol?wprov=sfla1 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Air_Patrol?wprov=sfla1)
They even have a rounded, haha.
All done.
Even did a CAP-C182 as well as the C172
Since I seem to be attracting the Customs DH8Cs (gulp), a USDHS-DH8C would be nice to have
(https://cdn.jetphotos.com/full/6/93805_1593094899.jpg)
Hey Rik, can you do a flag for ABF-E55P please, OH-TFD, Scanwings .
Thanks
Hi Rik, can you do me a flag for the Condor A332's with the green tails like D-AIYA and D-AIYD please.
Thanks
Ben
I will do that. I need to re-do the entire fleet really, and then marry it up with what in my DB.
Watch this space.
R:)
Have completely re-done the Condor (CFG) fleet and posted.
They are also in the auto-updated zips in GitHub
I made this generic flag for the several helos operated by Panther Helicopters (https://www.pantherhelicopters.com/) that fly around doing helicopter things (AD571E, AA4037, A9C9BA, and AD3356)
Use it if you wish.
Hey Dzi.
Great first go. I'll update the DB for those ICAOs
I re-worked your image, from looking at the original image I believe that it has not scaled correctly into the 85x20 size box. The image from the website winds up as 107x20 end result, so when forced resized into 85x20 the scaling goes out of whack. The image posted in the gallery is similar yet different and preserves the original image scaling. I cut the panther out and scaled it to be 85px wide and let paint.net decide the height, placed this onto a 85x20 blank canvas so that it sat 1px from the top. Then cutting out the text into a 75x5 box - setting the resize to be 5px high and letting paint.net decide the width (then adjusting to an odd number so it sat correctly in the center of the image). This then got added under the panther with 1px space between the panther and the text and another 1px space between text and bottom of the canvas. This then preserved the scale of the logo and gave adequate white space so it don't look too bunched up, while also giving clearer text.
When you type it all out - it seems like a lot to do, never really thought about it too hard.
Might we get a side for A4D979 / N411ST? Owned by 'Benson Football LLC', which will be the owners of the New Orleans Saints.
Yes, black/white/gold are the team's colors, hehe.
Ah, btw, this is set as a CL35 in the database, but it should be a CL30; mentioned in today's vrsdata issue, and I submitted a correction to the SDM. Just don't want anyone to deal with the hassle of filename change shenanigans later. Cheers
Will do.
As discussed outside of this forum, it's a Challenger 350, so will do it as a CL35.
N411ST was a CL30, c/n 20266.
It now appears to be a CL35 c/n 20509.
Looks like c/n 20501 onwards are CL35s.
The FAA website doesn't help!
The FAA website is rather ambigous. Cross referenced with PlaneBase and Rzjets and it comes up as a CL35. The only difference between the CL30 and CL35 that I can clearly see is the type of engine used, bigger windows and a slightly bigger span with different winglets - hard to pick out in a 85x20 px side view.
Up loaded. Enjoy
Could we get a side for Colombian Super Tucanos? It'd be FAC-E314.bmp, I guess.
Done - and should have perculated into your VRS by now. Will post up on forum later :)
Could you do a generic logo for QA Aviation (https://www.avcodes.co.uk/images/logos/QAV.png) (QAV)?
Thanks!
No problem. In the interim grab QNR.bmp and rename it to QAV.bmp. Same company, but changed ICAO designator about a year ago from QNR to QAV.
Thanks for the QAV tip Rik, may I request a generic logo for Skyside (SKV) from Austria?
Cheers,
John
SKV all done :)
Thank you very much Rik.
Hi Rik I have been watching CornwallVRS the last few days to help me manually install your Logo Op Flags and I noticed you have a blank For G-HAIG - Rutan Long-EZ
Op Code GEN-LGEZ
Love the pics btw, they've kept me busy for 3 weeks solid entering them all 8)
Saw a TH-73 for the first time today, no side for it. As I mentioned in discord, there is a side for Navy TH-72, based on the Lakota, which Wikipedia says was not adopted. I guess they went with the Koala-based TH-73 instead.
Here's a TH-73:
It's under CNV-A119.
Not sure what I was thinking when doing this one and completly breaking with my military naming convention by using the standards ICAO type. Must have been having a funny day.
Reposted as CNV-TH73
Rick,
A few military side views that I can't find anywhere, if you could help with please

I've posted up the UAF-CL60 as I already had that in my folder, but it slipped through the cracks and never got posted to the forum.
The Bangladeshi C-130s are done and the rest are a WiP and will post up when I doing my next batch of up loads to the gallery.
All sides uploaded for you, Mike.

E8066C / 996 is a Chilean H-model Herc who thinks it and its stablemates deserves a side.
Some pics:
