Title: Airband Antenna
Post by: G-PHIL on November 08, 2021, 05:49:57 PM
Hi All,

When making an airband antenna calculation, what's the centre of the airband. Do you use the band between 108 and 137mhz or between 118 and 137mhz? Just thinking of knocking a quick one together to see if it's any good.

If it's just comms you want, then the band extends from 118 to 137 Mhz. That makes the centre frequency 127.5 MHz.

Frequencies between 108 and 118 MHz are used for nav beacons, instrument landing systems etc.
