Planeplotter recommends NTP:

Hi Mike,

being either reluctant to new/untested stuff or then again impatient to all comprehensive infos
I downloaded the NTP from the meinberg.de server
ntp-4.2.6p5@london-o-lpv-win32-setup.exe

not quite sure whether I followed everything since never saw any CMD window for bat nor Icons
but anyway NTP seems to work in background. I deliberately deviated system time several secs
repeatly and after some minutes it corrected the time.
I only compared visually to a DCF-77 controlled digital alarmclock.
It all was too simple I guess there is more to it, may look into things further when time permitting.

thanks again

Klaus,

There's a GUI monitor you can install to see what NTP is doing:

http://www.meinberg.de/english/sw/time-server-monitor.htm#download

There is an option to display an icon in the system tray, if you then hover your mouse over that icon, you get the time offset in milliseconds displayed. You can see if your clock is drifting my a large amount.

HTH

Thank you Tim for pointing me to that

Promising for reassurance checking that periodically, otherwise I am happy to leave NTP working alone  :)

As Anmer says Meinberg NTP is recommended for PP, I use it and it keeps my PC clock within PPs limits.
I reckon It's a good (and free) solution.

Detailed installation instructions can be found at http://www.satsignal.eu/ntp/setup.html (http://www.satsignal.eu/ntp/setup.html), they're easy enough to follow even if you are unfamiliar with such things, as I am!

Cheers,

Keef.

I use NTP for PP and it's always been reliable. I've never had a time error with PP since I started using it.
