New laptop - Snapdragon processor. Tried moving SBS-1 files across from old laptop (software 1.2.3.175) unable to open due to file ftd2xx.dll missing. Tried downloading the version on this forum - same result. Is this a Snapdragon issue? Thanks in advance for any help.
Are you running Windows on the laptop?
It won't be a processor issue, more to do with the BaseStation installation. Should be easy to fix.
You think BaseStation is gonna run on arm?
But while you might not know what a Snapdragon processor implies (arm), i'm sure you know if BaseStation is available for Windows on arm.

From what I have read, Windows can run on PCs and laptops with Snapdragon processors.
Basestation is a Windows application. It's not processor dependent. Hence my question.
It's a fairly old application i'd very much doubt the developers are offering a version compiled for arm.
And i have my doubts that the compatibility layer for x86 applications works well on windows for arm.
If something is compiled to machine code (which is most programs), CPU architecture the compilation was done for is very relevant.
Thanks Anmer and Wiedehopf. My understanding is that non-arm software should still run on a Windows 11 platform, I guess that I'll keep trying.

Following further reading, some software will work as expected, others with deficiencies, the rest not at all. Older, legacy Windows apps, may not work. BaseStation is 20 years old!
I'm happy to take a look at your BaseStation installation in case that's the issue.

ftd2xx.dll needs to be placed in Windows\SysWOW64
and/or in Windows\System32
