Hi all was just wondering if anyone could provide some ideas on how to fix a reporter issue.
I haven't really used reporter for a long time since I stopped keeping logs for military movements, so I'm not actually sure how long this issue has been present and I also copied over a new sqb population file today so I'm not sure if that has affected anything. But I have a problem where I cannot edit any of the daily sessions, I like to add a Mil tag to a column in my logs and it's not letting me edit under sessions. I can edit the massive list of "Aircraft" section and I can still edit in the base station radar screen, but obviously the new sqb file doesn't have my old edited "Mil" tags anymore so I'm going to have to re edit it.
When I click on a Plane in the session part on reporter it just flashes a little egg timer with SQL under and does nothing. Not really sure what I can check and I've had a look through but nothing seems out of place
Thanks
I assume you were editing the UserTag column in Reporter by selecting an aircraft record and choosing "Edit"? Is this corrrect, see attached?
If you were, I've just tested this on the latest version of s92driver's Populated SQB file and it works OK.
I'm not sure what you mean by editing a "plane in the session part of Reporter"?
Reporter is a "View and edit" tool for some parts of the Basestation database, the sqb file. The database has a number of database tables and Reporter exposes two of them - Aircraft and Sessions. Aircraft lists all aircraft in the database. Sessions list all aircraft added during a BaseStation session, i.e. when BaseStation was running. Regard it as a sub-set ofthe Aircraft table. It's not possible to edit an aircraft record as listed in a Session, shown in the bottom half of the screen.
Reporter is showing "received" during a particular BaseStation "session". The aircraft shown come from the Aircraft table. That's why s92driver's populated sqb file opens with no Sessions. It's a "virgin" database.
My guess is you used to edit the UserTag in the Aircraft table, as described above, and not the aircraft record under Sessions. I could be wrong.
Come back if you need more help.
Hmm 🤔 interesting but yeh your pretty much correct with what I'm trying to do and am sure I used to do it before but it's been that long since I used reporter I'm probably wrong 🤣
I insert Mil in the user tag so I can identify military planes as I like to see what I pick up through the day and obviously if I've missed anything while not at the screen I was sure I used to go into reporter and check through the days log and edit anything I've missed.
Like you say there's a Aircraft tab and a Sessions tab and it's in the sessions tab I was trying to edit what I'd missed throughout the day. I can edit anything in the aircraft tab but it's a big list so trying to find in that section would take ages 😂😬 I've got a few sessions listed now as it's been running a few days, I guess I'll have to "edit" while it's live ☺️
I guess I must be remembering wrongly if you say that the Sessions tab is not able to be edited 😬 It must be correct though because it's not allowing me to do it 😁🤭
Thanks anmer it's brilliant to always have knowledgeable people to assist in technical matters 👍
The option to Edit an aircraft record in Sessions is actually greyed out. Not possible.
Do you know you can show the UserTag in the aircraft list on the right of the map and easily mark it on or off there?
Or, in Reporter, use the Filter option to only display selected aircraft records and then edit the UserTag in the display?
Or use an SQL database editor and run a SQL command to tag all records matching military types?
Yeah I have the user tag column on the right side aircraft list on the map display 👍
🤔 Using a filter option was maybe the way I did it last time but could of sworn I edited via sessions 🤣 but my memory is terrible so probably not 🤭 But currently clicking a Aircraft in the sessions tab just does nothing at all so I'm guessing I must of been confused with doing it a different way 😬
Probably using a SQL database editor is too complicated for me lol I'll try using the filter way in the aircraft tab I think 👍
Thanks again for clearing it up
Just had a look in the Aircraft tab and I can see the filter option and where it says
Show all records
Show only those records where:
Is there any way to select start time or end time option so I can see records from certain days otherwise the normal aircraft list is like tens of thousands long and loads I'll never log from my coverage. It would take ages to sift through that trying to find the current day. Obviously I'm looking to tag mostly RAF stuff or USA military I log overflying the north east.

This is possibly because you're not updating s92driver's sqb file. Hence no Sessions.
Where is BaseStation.exe installed?
When you downloaded s92driver's sqb file, where did you place it?

The basic issue is you're viewing s92driver's sqb file which probably has many more aircraft than the one you had before and includes aircraft that you haven't "picked up" locally and might never see.
There is no option, using Reporter, to filter on start and end time.
What do you want to achieve? Add a UserTag for all military aircraft in s92driver's sqb file? Or only the ones you've have picked up using your local receiver?

I am creating daily sessions in reporter but just can't edit under the Sessions tab. Base station.exe is in program files (x86) Kinetic folder on the c drive and I placed the sqb download in there

Was trying to add a Mil in the user tag for the military planes I pick up in my local area. I used to post daily logs over on another form years ago and I just used that way of defining Military flights. Just confused as I used to update the daily sessions at the end of the day and add mil to the military stuff I missed whilst at work.
It's kinda hard to show and explain what I'm trying to achieve without adding pictures but there too big file size to upload.
Appreciate the help though 👍

OK, you need to replace the BaseStation.sqb file in the VirtualStore.
Have a read of this (https://www.m-service.de/seiten/gb/downloads_gb_only/gb_find_virtual_store_WIN10.pdf)

I'm willing to take a loook with you using a Remote Connect session. But the issue is you're now using a generic, global database as opposed to one that was only populated with aircraft you picked up on your local receiver.

Yeh there is also a sqb in the virtual store already. I'm I right in that the sqb file in the virtual store is the one that is updated and the one in c: program files x86 isn't? Reason I ask is I just copied over the one from program files to the virtual store and the session list is empty again.

Appreciate the offer but as you said earlier that editing the daily session list log is not possible there's probably not much I can do about it. 😬

The bit I don't understand is why your Sessions are empty?
The sqb in the Virtual Store should update. Don't copy the one from Program Files (x86). That one doesn't get updated with locally received data.

Yes I made the mistake of copying the sqb from the c: program files kinetic folder into the virtual store last night. I only started using the new sqb file about two days ago so that's why the sessions list was empty 😊
And after I copied over the sqb file from the program file folder it wiped the sessions list again 🤣 (rookie mistake) that's why I was wondering which location is used to update the sqb. Now I know it's the virtual store directory 👍
