Title: CloudWarrior Operator Flags
Post by: CloudWarrior on July 15, 2025, 09:37:01 PM
I thought I'd add some context as to how and why I choose the flags in this file. I've always used the airliner sideview flags in the aircraft list and for GA and Bizjets I used the silhouettes. But after a while this  began to bug me. I really wanted all the flags to be the same type and so look better. I use PlaneBase to populate my SQB and their database has a lot of generic flags covering GA and Bizjets. But that still didn't sit right and so I decided to make my own.
I live in Manchester UK and all the flags I make are of aircraft that regularly visit the area or pass through. My ariel is on the roof and so the area I cover extends well south into Cheshire and beyond so I cover a fair few airfields. A lot of Bizjets pass over as well. As well as making flags of aircraft I actually see on the screen while spotting I am slowly going through my Basestation reporter in alphabetical order for GA aircraft. I am currently up to G-M...

One thing I've noticed while trawling through the Basestation reporter, is the number of registration changes that occur but go unnoticed because the hexcode remains the same. Especially helicopters. They seem to change registrations and owners at the same time. Very hard to keep track.

Depends on the country of registration and its policy regarding codes.  Not an easy task.
