I have just started BaseStation for the first time in over a week and when its loaded it immediately causes the Logitech wireless mouse to become un-responsive and jerky as to make it unusable,shut downBaseStation and the mouse operates perfectly.
Set up summary is Vista Home/SBS1/FD7/AD.
Any thoughts would be appreciated

How far away are you from the SBS?
Me and the computer on the ground floor SBS box in the room above and connected by a USB cable,this set up has been in use for two years or more and with the exception of the very occasional drop out has performed OK.

Probably interaction between the drivers for the mouse and the SBS particularly as the SBS is connected via USB.
The SBS uses FTDI drivers for the USB connection.
I'm guessing the wireless mouse works via a USB dongle. Not so easy to figure out the drivers for the Logitech mouse but at least one version needs FTDI drivers to work in Linux so probably also true in Windows.
If the setup had been working before, a Windows update may have messed things up. If so, might be worth updating the FTDI drivers for the SBS to see if things get back to normal.
I recall seeing a thread about updating FTDI drivers somewhere on one of the forums - Mike might remember.

I use the CDM20802_Setup.exe file to update the drivers.
This file is in the Basestation CD zip file.
Yesterday I connected an iPhone to my PC via USB. Crashed Windows immediately.
Restarted Windows with the iPhone connected, crashed again. Removed iPhone and everything was OK.
USB drivers!
FWIW my Android phone and BaseStation co-exist peacefully when both connected via USB to any of my PCs (2 x Win 7 64-bit and 1 x Win 7 32-bit).

Back in May i bought a new desktop which has wireless keyboard and mouse. Mouse and SBS no more than 3 feet away from each other.
Since change over to the new pc i have been plagued by SBS and AD crashes, mike had a go at trying to sort out but we never got to the bottom of it and to this day it happens at least 5 times a week. (Annoyingly it has never crashed whilst i have been monitoring Basestation!!!)
I might get hold of a mouse with USB to see if the problem goes away??

I have deliberately waited a few days before updating my end of this thread but all now seems to be functioning OK.
Adopting my usual course of action,i.e. try the simple things first,shut down BaseStation move the USB cable to a different port and restart BaseStation and no problem with the mouse.Quite why this corrected the fault I will leave other more knowledgeable persons to maybe comment,but thanks for all the interest and suggestions.

Moving the SBS to another port will have caused it to reload drivers. Somehow that has fixed the problem.
This PC malarkey is a bit of black art!
