Just got myself a MicroADSB (well strictly speaking a second one as the first was held by customs in bulgaria apparently) and have to say i'm impressed with it (not that i have much frame of reference being very new to all this)
Antenna that ships with it is on my window sill & aircraft seem to drop off at about 80nm according to adsbscope.
Going to look into ways of improving my set up with it.

You can pay as much if not more than the microADSB for an external antenna.

I'd experiment with the supplied one and then decide if you want more range.

There's a review I did in the Guides section of the Kinetic kit.  But there are others to consider.

Still finding my feet after two months & have now bought pp and am now a ground station & sharing on fr24 though i never see my radar show up on the site. (guessed it wouldn't with an internal antenna as the signal wouldn't be great).

Beginning to consider an sbs-3 with some kind of external antenna but think i need to do a lot more reading before i take that step.
Thanks to all the helpful posts on here, it's been really helpful to someone who was & still is totally new to all this.

I got pretty good results using my external antenna with the microADSB receiver, details in my Review.

Maybe try an external; antenna before investing in the SBS-3?  Or wait for the Puck if you're not too bothered about the SDRs?

If you're sharing to FR24 via PP, you won't see your data as it's all grouped under Net1.

Thanks for the reply Anmer, good idea on waiting for the Puck, might just do that.
Im sharing to fr24 via pp but also using the fr24 sharing app.

I'd only share using the FR24 software as this gets you access to Premium.

Yep that's what im doing. Sharing through pp as a ground station & sharing to fr24 through the fr24 app, so i gain access to premium (including the android app).

Thanks for the review Anmer, pretty much confirms my opinion of the Micro-adsb. It is very hard to fault for the money.
