Questioning Long-term AirNav Systems support for RadarBox24.com and RB24 Apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.

Great post by ACW367:

I am impressed by the development.  However, can Dev state how they will support the App long term.  The side views of airliners that are appearing in the App in airline colour schemes are impressive if limited considering the worldwide coverage of the product.  But will it be like the launch of Airnav 3D, where they had a representative few hundred liveries (skins), but not a single skin has been released in the two years since.  If you want a 3D skin for a Korean Airlines A388 or any B788, there is zero chance of getting that from Airnav.  How will airnav add to the representative side views currently available to show a full set that is constantly added too as new types come on line with the world airlines.

Will it be the same for RB24, in two years it will only be representative legacy aircraft liveries that show and every new type or rebranded airline will only show the greyed out silhouette.

What is your five-year in-company plan for supporting the changes required for this App or will it be the same nil/volunteer support that has been the case for the long-term sustainment of your other products.

Volunteering to update an aircraft or routes database is one thing.

Getting volunteers to produce, free of charge, quality and consitent sideviews is a totally different matter.

Let's wait and see.

Reading a post on the its forum (http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=7615.msg91574#msg91574) today, about outstanding RadarBox software bugs, I can't help but think AirNav will have its work cut out to provide ongoing support for this and RadarBox24.

RadarBox bugs haven't been fixed for over 40 months and RadarBox24 is still in beta, 5 months since it was launched.  And AirNav is promising paid apps for iOS, Android et al and a Premium website.

With its appalling track record in supporting its flagship product, one on which RadarBox24 totally depends, I don't think I'd be too eager to spend any money on its new products, assuming they get launched.

Brandao should stick to the day job.
