A personal message to Andre Brandao.
Please stop the lies and bullshit and do what you said you would do once Ship Trax was launched. FIX THE PROBLEMS WITH RADARBOX!
Obrigardo.
It would be nice to get the whole AirNav Systems family back together in 2013.
There are many ways in which you can help improving the software as one AirNav Systems family for users of AirNav RadarBox (including RadarBox24.com) and AirNav ShipTrax.
Stop the censorship on the forum and Don't try hiding bad Reviews/Negative Feedback of the AirNav Systems software/products.
Like how to uncheck the sharing option.
In 2013 AirNav Systems staff and Andre Brandao should review the AirNav Systems Forum Bans that should never happen in the first place in the past years.
Since those members that got banned never did anything wrong (DaveReid,Anmer,Hamish,Deadcalm, kdt, and dozens of other AirNav Systems Forum Users...)
As Netcop said on the AirNav Forum the other week:
******************************************************************
Just because during the past few years we bеcame some kind of a family. AirNav family.
We аre not employees, not fanatics, but family members. And we work not for money and not even for some influence over the product direction. We work just because we like our hobby.
Andre and his team gave us a product, which is for sure not perfect, but really changed our hobby lives. And radically changed ADS-B hobby landscape around the world for the benefits of thousands of people.
We believe in AirNav, not still believe, but believe...
And we will defend our family. Why are you surprised about that? It's a natural reaction.
And, what much more important is that we put our best efforts to make our family grow. This is also our natural choice.

That list is missing quite a few people, me included.
Agree with ACW367.
AirNav Systems Support should provide better customer support to those buying those $500+ hardware Radarbox/ShipTrax boxes.
At one time AirNav Systems Staff was looking into having a company in the United States do "repair" on the hardware boxes. So far in the past 2 years we are still waiting.
I don't think we will ever hear anything new about it in 2013 or as ACW367 put it "next 5 years". :(
It's a shame for a company based in California. Can't even get these hardware boxes fixed in the United States. !!!
Couldn't find the post. but it's somewhere on the AirNav Systems forum from few years ago...
https://www.google.com/search?q=repair+site:airnavsystems.com/forum&hl=en
Wouldn't have long repair times getting the hardware fix for United States/Canada/Mexico users! Like fixing the Sawfilters problems on the boxes.

As I suspected more goodwill and volunteer support required to sustain this long term. I still worry about the lack of a five year plan for in-house support of any Airnav product.

AirNav relies almost entirely on volunteers to handle support - updating databases, creating outlines and aircraft logos. But when support can only be provided by AirNav it fails miserably.
Here's an example of AirNav's chronic lack of technical support.
A new navdata.db3 was "released" on 29th December 2012. At 11.33 am on 31st December it was reported that an error was being encountered when attempting to download the file.
It was 7.28 pm, over 8 hours later, before AirNav even acknowledged the numerous reports posted on its own forum,
"We are investigating this."
But today, at 8.40am, Wednesday 2nd January the problem remains.
I can't imagine this is a major problem yet nearly 4 days later it hasn't been fixed and AirNav customers are unable to download the latest navdata.db3 file that the "volunteers" have worked so hard to create. Shameful and totally inexcusable.

Maybe my post has stirred AirNav into action, or at least to post an update.
"Apologies this is related to the server issues we had, the server does not like exe files on the server and things (sic) they should be executed rather than downloaded.
We have our team working on this, its affecting all downloads at the moment."
It worked OK in the past? "Team". Yeah right. 8)
