Hi there,
My name is Preston and i have joined the forum.
I have been a planespotter and number cruncher for a number of years. I have finally took the plunge to ADSB reception.
I am currently using an RTL dongle with RTL1090 nd planeplotter to decode and plot the signals.
I have been a scanner user for a number of years so any questions in relation to that I may be able to help.
Oh and my aerial I use is a homebrew one.
Preston
Welcome to the forum.
Home brew antennas you want Shakysen.
I will keep my eyes peeled.
I am running a coaxial collinear aerial by Dusan Balara it has greatly improved my previous aerial of a mag mount placed as high outside as I can.
I ran mine down stairs near pc for a long time, as I sit between numerous airports, Have now put up the TMRF 1090 with 15 metres of coax supplied and results are good.
I have also put up TMRF Scan base for the receiver all supplied by http://www.taylormaderf.co.uk/index.php
Now pick up from border with Scotland down to English channel The east coast of Ireland and a good way out into the north sea. So am happy with the results
And a warm welcome from me too Preston ..
