Title: Something New for the SBS-3
Post by: Anmer on July 16, 2013, 06:36:06 PM
I received a "news" item in the mail this afternoon from Chris Taylor.

I have to admit that I don't understand what this is about but then again I'm not into software defined radios.  So I'll let everyone work it out for themsleves by quoting the "news" in full together with the link to the Youtube vide:

A sneak preview of what the latest developments are from team at Kinetic.
Last Friday I went to the software developers office for a play with his latest offering.
Basestation will on the next Beta release pass the I & Q data from receiver A of the SDR receivers on port 30009 or you can connect the SBS-3 direct without Basestation running.
This gives you the ability to connect to 3rd party SDR software such as SDR #
A more in depth Video will follow shortly this is a taster of what is to come Enjoy :D

I hope the codex they use is better then the one they used int the past. The past need 512Kbps just for the audio. I'm hoping they get it down to 32Kb which is an MP3 standard.
