Title: Reus Airspace
Post by: Bethsalem on August 19, 2013, 05:56:46 PM
This Jet2 flight (EXS303Q) appeared to abort it's first landing and has been circling for a while now. The Ryanair flight (RYR7771) has been holding, waiting to land.

More crew training. Ignore the route info, VLG991K has been doing approaches and go-arounds for almost the last hour.

Between November and March, there's a fair amount of weekend crew training carried out by airlines such as Vueling and Lufthansa.

Unusually there has been training every day, alternating between Vueling and Lufthansa. Normally I would only see it on weekends during daylight hours. There has been daily activity too, with the mode a/c and mode s only equipped light aircraft (DA40, DA42, PA28 among others) used by CESDA too. So a lot of pilot training going on this week.

The rain has been intense today, so this Ryanair flight from Eindhoven is waiting to see if the amount of surface water on the runway reduces. My guess says it will divert to Barcelona. So much for the sunny Costa Daurada  ???

Unfortunately for the passengers it has now diverted to Barcelona.

Winter has finally arrived on the Costa Daurada! Why?

It's the first day of winter flight crew training at Reus Airport. Vueling is the first customer of the season.

Lots of activity today, 23rd October, as the Rallye de Espana gets underway. EC-ERS is being used as a communications relay aircraft so there's uninterupted coverage of the rally.

Also this BE20 of Swiss Flight Services is aerial surveying and flew over my office.

OO-ASL joined later in the day as another communications aircraft for the Rally.

Today, 24th October, this is EC-ERS's day so far.
