Mode-S Receivers => Kinetic's SBS-3 => Topic started by: Mista Uzi on August 28, 2013, 01:24:48 AM
Hi guys.
I have previously posted this issue on the Kinetic forum, so far with no resolution.
Having some frustrating issues with my remote setup in the UK.
Have a PC running WIN7 professional with BS V175. Connected via ethernet to an SBS3. All works and connects fine.
However, after a period of time which can vary from 1-3 days, if I log into the PC a pop-up window says that Basestaion has stopped working. This appears to be a windows error, not a BS error message.
Recently I was in the UK and installed a new hard drive and a complete new install of OS and everything else. Having now returned to the UK, I appear to be getting the same error. I left my old SBS1 hooked up as well via USB and if I switch to that, I get the same issue.
Also took an opportunity to install a second PC, pre installed with WIN8. Again on this PC I am experiencing exactly the same issues.
I am 100% sure there is no issues with either SBS units themselves, as I had my laptop hooked up whilst there and that ran for almost 8 weeks without experiencing any issues at all.
As this is a remote setup, I am unable to change/check anything with the pysical setup.
Any assistance with this very annoying issue would be appreciated.
thanks

Can you post a screenshot of the error message?
I leave today for France and will be driving until Saturday so might not be able to reply immediately.
I must replace my car with one that goes over 30 miles an hour. ;)
Will do the next time I get one
This is the error message I get.
On shutting down the PC to reboot, yet again, I noticed the following error message with AD. Not sure if it is related or just a consequence of the error

if running win dows 8 run as administrator instead and see if it works i have win 8 and have to run in administrator mode i have an sbs-3 tho so im thinking where did you install on local c or external hdd?? just so i mite try my self
Thanks.
Have just activated super administrator mode.
The whole Kinetic folder is located on a partitioned D drive. Couldn't get it to work with the standard install location and AD
