Title: Dongle problem

Hi Guys. Dongle's were working fine last night. Went into the loft this morning. Found this on screen.
1 Rtlsdr device found  cannot read device info 5,cannot find device. Have uninstalled software, reinstalled twice still same result. any ideas please.
Running win7 with PP& Freescan, Dongle on computer

What decoding software are you using?  Have you tried closing and restarting it?

Or have you tried the dongle in a different PC?

Hi Boss. Have taken the decoding software out over a week ago. tried the dongle in a laptop works fine.
not desperate for them Boss.Will stop using them when or if the Mythical puck  arrives on the scene

Must admit I left them alone. Will delete everything an start from scratch

Well guys.It's got me beat deleted everything but O/S,Network,reinstalled
same result cannot find device

So it looks like a dongle failure. Is it a chinese one?

Aren't they all Chinese?

But I thoughy Shaky said he's tested the dongle in another PC and it worked?

I think so, but you can find them for 25€ or just 7€. Maybe they have different quality control levels, this is common on other consumer electronic devices.

To my knowledge there are only three shops that do a quality control check on the dongles for sdr use, and fit an esd diode if needed. They are Jetvision, Nooelec and CosyCave.

Shaky, remember too that you'll need different zadig drivers with Win7 than with WinXP.

Unplug the USB cable, then plug back. It should do the trick.

I don't work for Microsoft Tech support.

Whenever my dongle has this problem, I just unplug the USB cable and then reconnect it.  It work.
