Title: Air New Zealand All Black(s) colour scheme.
Post by: Watson-Watt on March 09, 2012, 04:10:06 PM
I'm just trying to find out a little more about the new colour scheme adopted by ANZ as part of their sponsorship of the All Blacks.
I've seen one B777 in the livery operating the ANZ1 service LHR-LAX but I wondered if it was the only aircraft to be so painted. I can't imagine them redoing an entire fleet. Anyone know if it is the sole representative, or will others in the fleet be around to see?

Many thanks,

W-W

Best I could find.  Appears to be ZK-OKQ?

See this pic which shows a Beech pained all black too:

World Champion All Blacks rugby players Kieran Read and Andy Ellis ceremonially led the one-of-a-kind Boeing 777-300ER aircraft out of Boeing's paint hangar facility in Seattle on Friday night 16th December (US West Coast Time), highlighting Air New Zealand's long-time sponsorship of the recently crowned World Champion All Blacks rugby team.

.........

The aircraft is expected to be delivered to Air New Zealand in late January following the completion of its interior fit out.

By mid next year Air New Zealand will have six aircraft featuring the all black livery including two Airbus A320s and three Beech 1900D turbo-props.

Well done, sir!

Thanks for that Anmer, I'm grateful to you. My only sighting of the B777 was last week as it was in and out of cloud. I live under the NW corner of the LTMA and most commercial sightings are much of a muchness. There's the inbound morning rush of trans-Atlantics, BA, United, American, Virgin etc., and the corresponding rush in the other direction later in the day. Of course, there are plenty of BA Shuttles, BMI and Aer Lingus aircraft beetling back and forth but rarely anything out of the ordinary, so seeing this particular airraft made a change. Of course Sod's* Law struck and I didn't have my binoculars with me. Can't win 'em all!

Thanks again,

W-W

* I am allowed to say'Sod' here, aren't I?  :-\

It has been in & out of Heathrow about a dozen times and I still haven't seen it and I live on the flightpath between BNN & Heathrow.
It has usually been cloudy or the wind has been on Easterlies and when we do get nice weather it is one of the other aircraft.  >:(

BS Reporter shows Hex C81E22 ZK-OKQ operated this morning's ANZ 2 inbound to Heathrow.
Big assumption here, but I think that aircraft will operate this afternoon's ANZ 1 outbound. The mist has finally cleared, so if it departs on a WOBUN SID I should stand a half decent chance of getting a reasonable view. Knowing my luck, it will be vectored off the SID or go out via Compton.

PS Scheduled departure time 1535, so normally seen out here near Henton about 1600..... all other things being equal.  ::)

ETA 1557: It went out on a Compton SID. Oh, well...
