Installed BaseStation 184 to get full benefit of SBS-3. Noticed buttons on audio tool bar did nothing but what do I know?.
After reading the manual ??? for other reasons, clearly they are supposed to work.
Swapped to BS175 and, yes, working buttons.
Problem confirmed by member "mhm" for Puck as well. Since BS184 is the only version available on the Kinetic website, suspect there might be a few bemused Puck users ;)
Precisely which "radio" buttons do not work? Which BaseStation menu items?
The Puck CD I received had V183.
Click on settings go to toolbar then internal external radio and sdr nothing that comes up on the Basestation toolbar work
No working toolbar shown on attachment.
Disadvantage of BS175 seems to be only 4 of 6 tuners work whereas 6 work in BS184.
Well when I say "work", I can tune them but not yet heard anything on any of them - hopefully early days ;D

I've just installed BaseStation 184 and I don't see that path in the menu?
When I select "Built-in SDR", the options seem to be working OK?

Thanks Ian.
I can confirm those toolbar icons do not work in BaseStation V183 and V184. OK in V178.
Don't blame me, I resigned from the Kinetic Beta test team years ago. ;)
They work on my portable setup: SBS-1eR, BaseStation v184, firmware build 519, Samsung NC110 netbook. Win 7 Starter 32-bit.

Not working on my win7
Think Ian's is on his 8.1 ver
As I was about to say before I lost my broadband connection, they don't work on my SBS-3 (BaseStation v184, firmware build 119, Win 7 SP2 64-bit).
SBS-3 only glitch?
Cheers for that Rob. Any details we can pass on to Chris may help.
Try settings Toolbar and select your radio (SDR for the SBS-3,Internal for SBS-1eR)

But the icons still do not work?
Mike do you only have SDR selected?

I think you're missing the point of this thread.
In BaseStation V178, these icons work. Hovering over them with a mouse shows a tooltip and the first icon opens the Radio Control Panel and the second one displays the preset frequencies..
In BaseStation version 183 and 184 there is no tooltip and the icons do nothing.

But as I posted earlier, they do work on an SBS-1eR with v184 but not on an SBS-3 with the same software.
If you have upgraded the exe file you will retain the ini settings for your radio.
In the past the SDR on the SBS-3 was internal
You now have 3 options SDR,Internal and external
If you go to Settings Toolbar
Uncheck internal
Uncheck External if selected
Check SDR and then restart basestation it will save the SDR to your ini file and the buttons will work
Hope that helps
Rob they will because the SBS-1eR is internal and SBS-3 is now SDR !
Yep, that works!
Thanks Chris.
Rob
OK, Chris has phoned and explained the issue, although I didn't upgrade the exe, mine was a clean install..
If one has an SBS-3, the icons have to be "activated" by telling BaseStation that you want to use its SDR.
See the screenshot.
It appears that SBS-1eR customers don't experience this issue as the Internal Radio is checked by default.
Methinks a small problem of "usability" for Kinetic to ponder.

Still does not work for me

The puck alongside the SBS-1

The puck alongside the SBS-1
The SBS-1 doesn't have a radio so these icons won't work.
What Toolbars do you have ticked when using the Puck SDR?

Followed this video and got nothing
Ok, from Toolbar options turned off "Internal Radio" and enabled "SDR".
Now working fine. As Mike says "useability" seems to be obscure - once you know, it's a "doh" moment. None of us worked that out!
And I've only ever operated an SBS-1e from this PC so the defaults were applied even though there was no radio.
What's even more annoying is that I actually read the manual for BS184 ??? and the subtle distinction between internal and SDR is sadly lacking. All that is mentioned is "If the built-in SDR toolbar is not visible...". Well it was, just the wrong one and since they are identical, that gives no clue.
Anyway up and running now so moans over.
Ian
MHM please call me in the office so I can change your unit for a later version which will work
