Post by: charliebrown on March 11, 2014, 12:57:03 PM
Are any forum members managing to get Active Display Lite to work with Windows 8 64 bit version ?

I can't get ADL to install and load.

Thanks to Gary Jones for his advice.

"Just make sure you know where your LIVE basestation.sqb (check date/time in Windows file Explorer) file is BEFORE installing it.  This is CRITICAL to a successful install."

Now ADL working fine.   :)

Windows Vista and later versions have something called the Virtual Store where some writeable files are "hidden" if one uses the default Program Files location when installing applications.

To confuse the Windows customer, it places what I call a ghost file in the normal folder location in Program Files.

BaseStation.sqb is such a file and AD needs to know where the active file is located.  For example, some choose a different folder to Program Files to bypass the Virtual Store.
