Hi ttech
Good news...in the command line for your rtl dongle try adding
-modeac
So that it reads dump1090.exe --interactive --net --net-ro-port 30002 --net-beast --mlat -modeac
This "should" give you access to Mode A/C.
Cant try it myself here , but let me know if it works.
It works. I'm currently decoding both Mode S and Mode A/C with my dongle and Dump1090.
small detail :
dump1090.exe --interactive --net --net-ro-port 30002 --net-beast --mlat -modeac
gave me an error.
but :
dump1090.exe --interactive --net --net-ro-port 30002 --net-beast --mlat --modeac
works OK !
Thanks
These last 3 posts should be in a different thread to avoid mixing ModeSdeco and Dump1090 stuff.
Thanks Satcom!
How to check if i am decoding mode ac?
Is it possible to bind to to aircraft type.
Nice to see another Belgian user.
Look at the console window. Attached mine one. The first aircraft is answering just in Mode A, sqwak 1023. That's all you can get. If it were Mode C you'd get also altitude. There's no way to match this with the aircraft type, but you can try to "beamfind" it and make a visual identification.

Hi Tibo, name here is Guy.
'my' in Planeplotter, guess you must be 'aG'
There are 'rather few' PP-sharers in our area.
Greetings !

If you explained more precisely what you want to do, maybe we can help.
I use 3 Dongle at home with Planeplotter.
So a friend use that Webserver (i dont know what the name is) who work like FR24.
I will share my data with him.
Now i use RTL1090 and i can send via UDP from every RTL1090 in the World the Data to my "Master RTL1090" and i see it in PP.
So what i want to do is receive all data from any Dump1090 from people who share it with me and send a copy of my Data to my friend so he can upload into his Website to publish it.
Hello
I am not quite sure what you are trying to achieve here.
I see that you are from Austria. VRS World does have a feeder already from Austria. He is amongst many feeders who take feeds from around their own country and forward the combined feed to us. Perhaps you should talk to him directly about your plans.
Please remember that RTL1090 and dump1090 are both bits of software to achieve the same result. In the Planeplotter world, RTL1090 is no longer recommended as it does not have the precision bits enabled which allow for MLAT. People are actively encouraged to use dump1090.
VRS World does not have a specific policy on RTL vs dump, however if pushed we only recommend and support dump1090 for the same reasons as Planeplotter.
Please send me a private message with your email address and I will forward it onto my feeder.
Please note that we do not share data with anyone else. The data provided by our feeders is their property not ours. If they choose to share their data elsewhere, that is their decision not ours. Feeder data is only used within the VRS World server.
Best wishes
Jon
So a friend use that: http://www.virtualradarserver.co.uk/
an so should it work with RTL1090 or Dump1090:

no idea?! :'(
I guess there is a couple of ways to do it, (pretty new to this myself), But I use Sharing through PlanPlotter to send it to other virtual ports. I have both FR24 and VRS set up to listen to port 30003.
I imagine there are other ways to attack your problem.

How?
I know PP support just one TCP connection?
Connection to or from what?
I use PP and RTL1090.
Hello to all,
Yesterday i tried DUMP1090 because i red on Forums that is the best decoder or not?...i could saw the ADS-B data raw on a CMD window coming form the RTL Dongle.
Today i began again a test and i recieve an error regarding port 30005(see attachment) what is going on???
Thanks
p.s.(Tests was made on a Desktop Win7 ultimate and on a Laptop Win 8.1)

I solved it...it was a silly thing...thanks to Rob from Sonicgoose he opened my eyes!!!
The time i made the tests i had an SBS-1 device connected...one at my Laptop via USB and another to my PC via ethernet...both made conflicts with Dump1090.
I'm very happy now because Dump1090 running feeding Basestation, i think with the first look is faster than modesdeco2...
Also MODE-S eqquiped aircrafts shown on the list.

... another dump1090 question!
Is there a way to get data from dump1090 directly to an external server.
I have dump1090 working locally with Virtual Radar Server but would like to share the data on a broad-based server. I would then connect to the broad-based server using VRS.
Thanks,
Rick
On the same machine who dump1090 run you use vrs.
Thanks Radio2.0. I have dump1090 and VRS on the same machine.
I must be missing something. How do I get VRS to share my data with an external broad-based server like sdrsharp?
Thanks,
Rick
if you want to share your feed with me i can help you thats easy.
Do you have an fixed IP Adress or chance it every X hour?
