Title: Hello from a Kiwi in Auckland, NZ
Post by: MB on March 19, 2012, 07:46:48 AM
I had been aware of ADS-B for a year or two but never seriously considered getting my own receiver until coming across the reasonably priced PGR. I have had it for four months now and although it has it's limitations I consider it to be fine for my purposes. I have spent quite a bit of time experimenting with collinear antennas and have settled for a very good performing arrangement that cost very little to make. I have made all my own new symbols roughly to scale to use with PlanePlotter and customised it in various other ways to suit. I really only use it all as an aircraft recognition aid and for that I am extremely please. I have attached a screen shot (not all that good) to show a typical view of what I get to see with my setup.
Regards to all.

Welcome MB and thanks for that screen shot. It's always interesting to see how others implement the various options in PP.
