Title: VLC Media player issues Windows 7
Post by: mw0cvw on June 07, 2014, 09:27:33 PM
Hello Guys

VLC Media player version 2.1.3, has stopped working, cannot stream audio from SBS-3 over ethernet to PC.

Base station (Hardware Settings)

RTSP 3009
Default UDP Port 5004
RTP/UDP Streaming is 127.0.0.1
Destination Port 1234

Note:Base Station working as normal displaying aircraft on screen.

VLC Media Player Settings

Media Network Stream rtsp:// 127.0.0.1

Have cycled power on SBS-3 and re-loaded the software (VLC) and base Station several times.

Any Suggestions would be very welcome  ;D

Try adding the port number to the VLC command:

Media Network Stream rtsp:// 127.0.0.1:3009

Ian,

Tried that before rtsp:// 127.0.0.1:3009.

VLC advises it cannot connect to 127.0.0.1:3009.

Back to the drawing board, appreciate the comments and support.

How are you powering the SBS-3?

Is it really port 3009?

Default SBS-3 value is 30009

Three zeroes in the middle.

Check SBS-3 and the VLC valus.

Hi all,

.. audio data is on 30005.

My understanding is

30003 ASCII ADS-B data
30004 <is this used ?>
30005 Audio data
30006 Raw data
30007 AIS (Ships)
30008 Acars
30009 I+Q data (for SDR#)

Because of all the port confusion, I actually changed my "RTSP Streaming" port under "Hardware Settings" to my own value (30025). That works for me in VLC and SM Player.

Since the default is 30009 and the suggestion is that this is for I+Q data, is it worth changing to see if that works for streaming?
