From Bev at COAA:
Hi,
PlanePlotter version 6.4.1.9 is now available for download following the link on the PlanePlotter web site.
http://www.planeplotter.com#download
-----Usual boilerplate-----
Updates are free to registered users.
You may need to exercise your browser Refresh function to force it to show you the new version of the PlanePlotter web page. If you post a message saying that the web site is still pointing to an earlier version, you pay a forfeit !
You can install the new version over the old one but you *must* close/exit PlanePlotter before installing the new one. Your settings will be preserved. If you post a message saying that the installer is unable to replace planeplotter.exe, it means that you did not close PlanePlotter first and you pay a forfeit !
If you h! ave a version-specific firewall (eg Zone Alarm), you may have to reassure it that the new version is permitted to access the Internet.
-----------
New features in no particular order:
FLARM data download corrected
Airframes Lookup updated
This version includes a work-around for the Airframes format change that caused a LookUp to clear the type field for an aircraft
Remote control of SMU 5km rule
This version allows the server to enable or disable the 5km rule for Mlats when performed by SMUs.
OpenAIP UTF8 coding
This version should handle UTF8 coding of place names in the OpenAIP files correctly. Previously, non-ASCII characters in place names and navai! ds were garbled.
OpenAIP overlay options enabled on a per Quick Chart basis
If you define a Quick Chart, it now remembers the state of the three OpenAIP overlay options at the time and will restore those options when the Quick Chart is subsequently invoked.
VDL2 position report does not overwrite an ADS-B position
If you are receiving both ADS-B position reports and VDL-2 position reports, a position derived from the former will not be overwritten by the latter because VDL2 positions are inherently less accurate than ADS-B positions.

Bev
