Good Morning
There seems to be a lot of problems effecting the Kent area over the last few days with aircraft tracking and then moving about a lot. At the moment i have N1GT a GLF 5 at FL45,000 it has been doing the same track for nearly an hour it appers just at the end of the easter approch track at LCY and routes over DET and across Kent to DOV and then starts the process again.
I have logged out of Plane plotter and switche dthe SBS off but on restarting all the problem is still there.
All software up to date and latest PP installed.
Help Please

Is the aircraft from a PP sharer or do you see it on BaseStation too?
Hi Anmer
On PP only i belive it was shearer M5 or 5m not 100% sure as i did not pay much attention to it.
It has been happing a lot with Biz being the most common which in turn points to MLAT. I see something coming our way and rush outside only to see it apper going the other way i go back inside and then it is coming back the same way very frustrating.
There is also another user very close to me about 15 miles and he is having the same problem.

Thanks.
The joys of PP MLAT sharing.
Sounds like you may to put up with this if you want to share data.
Hi Steve,
If you find a rogue sharer you can switch them off by entering their share code into PP under options>>sharing>>setup enter the share codes in the box labelled Ignore Sharers half way down on the left hand side. You can enter as many codes as you like but don't put a space or any other characters between each code.

Thanks Tim
But even some of my own shearer codes seam to jump about i belive that there are different paramiter,s on MLAT in europe and the UK and as we are at the edge of the UK the two maybe clash causing things to conflict. The diffrance i think is because of less shearers in europe they use less for MLAT.

Steve,
I think the multilateration operation is identical for everyone, regardless of where you are.
There are only 2 variations as far as I am aware. There's an ignore 5km rule which was introduced (I think) for people in Malta so that Mlat might work for them otherwise they would see nothing. Plus from the release notes form 6.4.2.4 the newly introduced "In the server script Ground Stations for a manual Mlat are selected within a radius or 90 nm unless that yields less than 5 GS in which case it increases to 175 nm."
Have you ensured you clock is accurate by running NTP? what does help>>test networking>>check sharing status show for you clock?
Tim
Thanks for the reports Steve
This should settle down as all SMUs adopt the new version.
The parameters between western Europe and the UK are the same , but high level traffic in overlap areas have suffered some disruption duing the migration to the new settings
When viewing mlats it is always best to turn prediction off and also dissengage hypersharing.
If you see any further probs , drop Bev a line so that he can investigate
At the moment there is a U2 entering UK airspace from the NW approaches at FL600 so that will give me a chance to review the crossover areas on the west side of the country ;)
