Title: Someone else peed off by Brian (Archivist)
Post by: IanH on October 22, 2014, 06:20:23 PM
Since the PP Yahoo Group is difficult to navigate sometimes, I thought you would like to see this. An unhappy (but still polite) Nic Storey.

QuoteBrian (from RadarSpotters),

If you see this, I think you will as you seem to monitor these groups,

When your copying and pasting information from emails sent to  these groups to the RadarSpotters forum is it too much to ask that you give credit

to the original poster along with the group you lifted the details from.

It's great that you post the topics/updates/releases there to help promote the software but as I say some credit would be nice.

As of now I will not post anymore links to my videos, users will just have to browse my site to see what's new.

I am a big believer in credit where credit is due, and I will Continue to Push PlanePlotter, PlanePlotterMobile (PPm), PlaneBaseNG and PBLink as much as I can,

The time that is spent by the Developers Adding and Beta Testers trying out new features I would not like to imagine.

A lot has happened with both programs in the last 12mths and they work hand in hand together in my opinion.

And a little Credit goes along way....

Regards

Nic

Maybe we should cut Brian a little slack.  He's banned from most "radarspotting" forums and needs every opportunity to promote himself on those that still need his posts.

Of the last 100 posts on Radarspotters, 77% were made by Brian, all with content pasted from another website or forum.

Original thinking isn't one of Brian's strengths.

Just read a Brian rant about me on Radarspotters where he says:

"I'm still a member on Anmer's RadarSpotting forum he is running, but not posting anymore due to his power games he does on his radarspotting forum."

True, Brian is still a member but he's banned from posting, which is probably why he hasn't replied here.

But full marks to him for his diplomatic handling of the Nic Storey debate.  :)

"Shame on you Nic Storey.

You should apologize for not taking this private (PM/Email). but you decided to post it on the thread for some unknown reason.

Sorry Nic Storey,  I would write more but you didn't handle it properly the first time, or didn't ask directly first on what you wanted.

You should be shame of yourself on what you are doing to this hobby, and it's Mode-S/ADS-B community.  On how you handle it today."

Nic Storey is doing far more for this hobby than the missing villager who can only copy and paste the work of others.

Just a thought, is there the slightest possibility that Brian could be Brandao in disguise?

I've read some of his early postings and some of Brian's and the standard of English and grammar are alarmingly alike.

Nah, surely not?

I had the same thought when I read his post.  The grammar is very similar.

But I decided they lived in different villages.

Oh dear, that made me laugh so much, thanks Mike ;D

I really don't know what Brian is on about?

And since I can't post a response on Radarspotters (my posts are set to "Moderate" and are never approved), I must do so here to defend myself against Brian's libellous allegations.

Hamish McTorsk owned and sold Radarspotters to Danny Dinneen.  It had nothing to do with me and I didn't receive any proceeds from the sale.

As for equipment tests, I either buy the equipment myself or get it on loan.  In which case, I make it perfectly clear how it was obtained.

if Brian were to "test" equipment himself instead of reposting other people's content, he'd soon realise how much time it takes to undertake a review and publish the results.

And I'm sure the flight tracking forums were started to help their customers and not because of my so-called "disgraceful" behaviour.

As for remote support, I'll let others comment about "data theft".

And if we ignore Brian's "Blogs", I know which forum enjoys more posts and membership growth.  And, contrary to Brian's claim, account deletions are approved, such as Bluekingcroft yesterday.  Yet another Brian falsehood.

And unlike Consumer Reports, our reviews are free.

Anyone with a neutral and objective attitude who takes the time to look at this forum, Radarspotters and also Airnav's will come to the conclusion that you are the only one telling the whole story, Mike.

Hi Anmer,

I'd just like to say thanks for keeping this forum alive and well.
Not an easy job but you do it well.

Cheers,

Keef.

Thanks Bethy and Keef.

I can't let Brian post unfounded allegations about my integrity without responding.

I tried to post on Radarspotters but, as I mentioned before, the posts never appear!

The "missing villager" might be the next "Susan Boyle" of the Plane spotting world. LOL.

Susan Boyle also "copy & paste" someones' songs but got popular.

More personal attacks and abuse from "Brian".

From memory. such posts contravene Radarspotters' own Rules.  I say "from memory" since they're no longer available to view but were cited as the reason for not publishing my posts.

A few days ago I sent the following email to Danny Dinneen, Radarspotters' owner and sole moderator.  As expected, no reply and the original post remains, now exacerbated by Brain's subsequent one.

Hi Danny

Since you still won't allow me to post on your forum, I'm politely asking you to remove Brian's latest post which contains unfounded allegations and personal abuse which, if I remember correctly, are in breach of the forum rules.

Thanks.

Mike

If Danny really cares about the ADS-B Community and his member's interests, perhaps he should apply the forum Rules equitably and rein in Brian's excesses?  These posts are undermining his forum's value.

Or maybe he's abandoned it too, worn down by Brian's daily churn?

Still no reply from Danny Dinneen.

Mind you, since Brian accounts for 70% of the posts on Radarspotters, maybe Danny can't afford to rein him in.  ;)

It looks like I've been expelled from the 2015 ADS-B Community.  :'(

And my 2016 membership is at risk too.

If anyone knows where I can find the 2015 ADS-B Community, or the 2016 one, can they let me know so I can apply for a refund of my unused membership fee.  :)

Reading Brian's post from yesterday leads me to conclude that English isn't his first language, it's obviously Dimwit, and he should have got a native to check it before posting.   :)

Is Brian the Sepp Blatter of the ADS-B community then? "El Presidente"? I wasn't aware one needed to gain his approval to be part of (t)his community.

What a tool.

Tim

Thanks Tim, I never thought of that possibility.  :)

I just looked at the 2009 AirNav forum posts in his last contribution, referring to "inappropriate links", which I assume was an attempt to discredit me.

Had a good laugh reading AirNav's attacks for outing its outlandish and unsubstantiated claims to be the market leader. I wonder what happened to "Allocator" (or AirNav for that matter)?

Can't wait to see if its new ComStation makes it to market.  Or will it go the same way as the Micro RadarBox?
