Just seen this on the Waters & Stanton website.
Maybe W&S are clearing out unsold stock in advance of a new version of the RadarBox receiver? Or sales are so poor they have to virtually give them away?
Whatever the reason, the prices are now as follows:
RadarBox Pro - £59.95
RadarBox 3D - £99.95
The bad news is the value of my unused RadarBox has disappeared.
I hope AirNav Systems isn't going the same way?

If you want the network for a year, it would be cheaper to buy the box than subscribe as you supposedly get a years free membership with a new box. ;D
The 5-minute delayed network is free for the first year.
But that assumes the server is still operating. Unsubstantiated rumours of AirNav's imminent demise are rife. But I stress these are
unsubstantiated rumours, possibly fuelled by the massive 80% discount offered by W&S.
I think I may have just improved the advert. :o
But just ignore me, I'm biased ;)

Even at these "bargain" prices, the RadarBox may not be such a good buy if the AirNav server isn't available (for whatever reason) to deliver features such as:
- Aircraft database updates
- Route updates
- Images
- Networked data
- Logs
- Alerts
- Bug fixes
- Future enhancements
In view of the rumours about AirNav Systems' future prospects, I think I'd ask the dealer/supplier to guarantee a full refund should AirNav fail to provide these services. Without them, the product cannot perform as advertised.
It's not just W&S...

Martin Lynch still has the original price on his site. It'll be interesting to see if that comes down too.
I see Martin Lynch & Son has the RadarBox advertised at the full price. When I asked if they could match the W&S price they said they no longer sell the RadarBox.

I got the impression that they were "conveniently" not for sale. At the new prices, there can't be much margin for the retailer.
Brian's incisive post on Radarspotters made me chuckle. Trying to explain the 80% price reduction:
"Companies having End of Year sales this time of year.
Black Friday Sales & Christmas sales happening this month & December around the world."
What happened in 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007? I must have missed those RadarBox End of Year "sales"?
I'll give Kinetic a call tomorrow and suggest the SBS-3 and Puck prices are reduced by 80% too. 8)
Selling below cost makes good business sense.

I wont touch them even with a 5.75 Metres pole.
If AirNav Systems is going down by
80 % discount, they badly deserved it - call it whatever sales - it might be a "bankruptcy sales".
In Asia, we called it " Boss Committed Suicide " Sales.

Can anyone confirm that the server is working?
I assume it is, otherwise there would be lots of complaints on the AirNav forum.
Mind you, there are reports that alerts aren't working today.
Box arrived will have to play with it on days off. Not a simple plug and play
