From Bev at the COAA:
Hi,
PlanePlotter version 6.4.2.7 is now available for download following the link on the PlanePlotter web site.
http://www.planeplotter.com#download
---..Usual boiler plate..---
Updates are free to registered users.
You may need to exercise your browser Refresh function to force it to show you the new version of the PlanePlotter web page. If you post a message complaining that the web site is still pointing to an earlier version, you pay a forfeit !
You can install the new version over the old one but you *must* close/exit PlanePlotter before installing the new one. Your settings will be preserved. If you post a message saying that the installer is unable to replace planeplotter.exe, it means that you did not close PlanePlotter first and you pay a forfeit !
If you have a version-specific firewall (eg Zone Alarm), you may have to reassure it that the new version is permitted to access the Internet.

New features:
New in version 6.4.2.6
A new style of Sector Master User is introduced. It requests raw data from contributing Ground Stations via the conventional share cycle, rather than by direct UDP packet. This means that users who are not on a WAN IP address (eg those connecting via a dongle, in many cases) can now contribute raw data for multilateration. The resulting fix necessarily refers to a somewhat earlier time than the normal SMU fixes, so we term the method "slow SMU". It is expected to be of particular use where a network of remote sites based on RPis is connected to the 'net using dongles.
The area of responsibility of an SMU (the area within which fixes are valid) can now be defined around the polygon of contributing Ground Stations and is not simply the bounding rectangle.
The graph of Mode-A squawks can now optionally omit any valid Mode_C values.
The NTP check that PlanePlotter performs, now explicitly requests data from IP 127.0.0.1.
ACARS data received from another utility by UDP will now be included in the optional airmaster log.
User who have not yet registered the software can enjoy a further period of evaluation using this new version.
New in version 6.4.2.7
Raw data can now be requested to be directed to port numbers other than the default port 9742 in order to facilitate new SMU topologies.
To deal with the extended time to compute Mlat fixes using the slow SMU method, such fixes are now uploaded with a more generous time tolerance.
Regards
Bev

The link on plane plotter website does not work.
John, could you please sort it ;D
seems to be ok now
Anti virus locked it out. Malware. Now sorted
Ah yes, I've seen that with Panda AV IIRC. At least it allowed it to be subsequently approved as ok.
But BitDefender locked out all the PlaneBase downloads without any way for me to say they were ok. Had to get them to check the site and now it allows downloads from planebase.biz
But as a result I'm dumping BitDefender and bought Kaspersky in the Amazon Black Friday sale. Checked on a free trial that they allowed what I wanted to be downloaded.
