When do you get the error?  When you launch FD or does it launch OK and you get the error doing something specific?

Has anything changed at your end?

Hi Mike,

FD launches fine.  Error pops up when FD running.

FD keeps running and just click OK to get rid of error again until it pos up later on.

I've reinstalled Windows 8.1 from 64 bit to 32 bit version.

Also had to reinstall  BaseStation, PP, etc. and the 32 bit version of FD.

There are two versions of FD - 32 and 64 bit.  That may be your problem.

Hi Mike,

I assumed that the FD 32 bit version would run with a Windows 32 bit version and FD 64 bit version with a Windows 64 bit Version.

Sorry, I misread the post.

Have you tried removing and reinstalling FD?

Was the 32 bit Windows install a clean one - to an empty formatted drive?

Hi Mike

Tried reinstalling again.

I was not sure about setup settings as I am using Kinetic 1090 and SDR Pucks.

I opted as per attached .jpeg.

Unless you plan to use FD with PlanePlotter, select SBS-1.

Hi Mike

I will try SBS-1 only setting.

Hi Mike

Changed to SBS-1 only setting.

Still getting same error.

I was wondering if perhaps FD now past its "Use by date".

Had a look at look at PlaneBase2 mentioned on the forum but it looks a bit complicated for me.

Charlie

FD hasn't been supported for many years.

PlaneBase is a different solution, primarily an aircraft database.

I asked earlier:

"Was the 32 bit Windows install a clean one - to an empty formatted drive?"

Hi Mike,

Clean install to an empty formatted drive with the reinstallation of Windows 8.1 32 bit  version.

Thanks Charlie.

Can you try choosing only one lookup site at a time to see if its a script that's causing the error?

OK Mike will try that.

Hi Mike,

I've taken some time to try out different settings in FD.

My setup (1 2 3 0 0) shown in attachment works without errors.

If I use (1 2 0 3 0) setup I get the "There have been more than10 internet errors" messages.

If I use (1 2 0 0 3) setup, I get the error message attached on my post 1 on this thread'

Charlie

Thanks Charlie.

I suspect the route lookup scripts for FlyteCom and FlightAware sites are no longer valid.

There should be a txt file in UserData folder for Internet Errors which should confirm the errors for FlyteCom.

Nothing we can do I'm afraid as FD is no longer supported.

Hi Mike,
This is from the BS FD Internet Errors text file.

"09/12/2014 17:53:12 - Errorcount=4 - CFE8712 - FA - The remote name could not be resolved: 'flightaware.com'

Thanks again for all your help.

I'll run FD using the settings that work without giving the errors.

Regards,

Charlie
