Title: Outlines
Post by: Saudistu on December 27, 2014, 12:47:44 PM
I am having trouble finding some outlines for Basestation (and Planeplotter for that matter). It seems that some sites are not available anymore. Also, even using AD-Lite did not add what I needed. If anyone has links to Basestation Outlines for Miami and Orlando it would really be appreciated !

It may be worth looking into Rod Bearden's

www.rodbearden.com/RadarBox/Downloads/

AllOutlines_  ...

The Outlines work with Basestation too

Hope that helps

If you still need them, I may have them.

If you are really stuck then Jordan's Outline Maker still seems available:

And a bit of detail on how to use it:

Hi,

The airfield layouts for both Orlando (KMCO) <but there is a typo which stops it loading correctly> and Miami (KMIA) are available via AD-Lite.

In AD-Lite go to Basestation Configuration > Install/UnInstall Outlines and Waypoints. Select Country = United States General. Airfields Data Source = Rod. Install the required airfields.

When you refresh Basestation outlines you will get an 'E-convert' error. Using Notepad or Wordpad open the US_AFP_Orlando_KMCO.out file that is your Basestation outline folder (it may be in your Virtual Store). On the very first line add an open curly bracket so it shows as

{Outline by Rod Bearden}

Save and reload the outlines and it should be OK.

Also available via AD-Lite are the final approach tracks for both Orlando and Miami > Install/UnInstall Outlines and Waypoints. Select Country = United States Southern > Outlines Data Source = acarslogger.

The Orlando airfield outline is owned by Gary's server account. I'll send an email to GAS support to see if we can get the source file corrected.

Hope that helps.
Stuart

Firstly, I apologise for the delay in replaying. We are absolutely overloaded at work at the moment. I have downloaded the Radarbox files and will try them out on the weekend. Thanks for all the links and input. Happy New Year to you all....

Does this outline maker create Airport Centreline as well?

No it doesn't.  Our member Acarslogger has a script he uses to make the centre lines. Maybe send him a PM if you need one?

Ok, thanks Anmer. I shall try that.
