Title: Light Aircraft Crashes in Hampshire

A light aircraft has come down in woodland south of the A303 close to Popham airfield in Hampshire.

South Central Ambulance Service said it had been called to Blackdown Woods just before 15:30 GMT and had sent three ambulance crews and its Hazardous Area Response Team.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service sent 25 firefighters to the incident.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance was also sent. It is not known if there were any casualties.

Sadly Hampshire Police confirm that thre has been loss of life  in this incident.

Hampshire Constabulary:-

"Hampshire Police are currently at the scene of a light aircraft crash near to Popham airfield.
Two people have sadly died, whilst a third is in a life threatening condition at Southampton General Hospital.
Emergency services were alerted at 15:43, Saturday January 3. The aircraft came down in woods south of the A303."
