Title: Hello From Virginia, USA
Post by: Rbethman on June 26, 2015, 04:34:02 PM
I am an Amateur Radio Operator, N0DGN.
I had begun looking into Microwave communications, and obtained the Keedox RTL Dongle.
I've now obtained a second one, and just began trying the ADSB aspects.
I've attempted using RTLDUO, and feeding the output to Globesrtl.
The RTLDUO works just fine.  However I'm here to try and learn how to get the appropriate map for Dulles International, (KIAD), map loaded, however I don't seem to have figured out how to get the Globesrtl to load the Lat/Long of KIAD.  I'm a bit frutrated at this point.  (Actually, that is putting it extremely mild right now.)  If I had any hair to pull out, I would have done it before.

Welcome.

I think you need to load an outline file (.out) for Globesrtl?

If this is correct, there must be a suitable folder to place the .out files.  Do you have an .out file for Dulles?

I'm away from home at the moment and don't have access to my desktop where these files are held.

I'm having issues with the Lat/Long in the *.ini files.
I can't quite seem to figure it out.  I am getting the gist of it, but haven't quite hit it all yet.
Heck, I'm 65, and have patience!

I think the Lat/Long should use degrees decimal.  There's a converter here:

You're younger than most of us here.  ;)

Hope this helps

I'm having issues with the Lat/Long in the *.ini files.

If Globes uses standard outline files, these are created using Jordan's Outline Maker and there's no need to do anything for Lat/Long or edit an ini file.
