Wonder if someone can help me out here.
I have just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
Base station works fine and is clearly writing to the database.
My issue is that when I open Basestation reporter it is empty....
If I look at the file in explorer it is 47MB big, so clearly not empty (and looking at Active Display it is continuing to write to the database).
How can I get Reporter to look at the right database or display what is in the database?
Michael
Welcome.
When you upgraded, did you copy or move any BaseStation files?
If your initial BaseStation install was to the default folder, the "active" sqb file may be in the Virtual Store. In which folder is the file that's 47MB and is this the Reporter.exe or an sqb file?
Are you using a desktop shortcut to open Reporter?
I suspect the problem is Reporter is opening the "ghost" sqb file in the Program Files location and not the active one in the Virtual Store. But it depends on where your initial install put the BaseStation files.

Thanks for the response.
In Windows 7 I had the database in the Program Files folder and they stayed there when I moved to Windows 10.
When I tried opening reporter using the shortcut it said the link was invalid so I opened it directly from explorer. But the display was empty.
On your Reporter shortcut - Properties - what is showing as the target location?

To be honest...I have beaten a retreat and reverted back to Windows 7 until I can get my head around this. I had other issues with other software after the upgrade and I can't afford to spend time at my PC trying to sort it all out at the moment... Windows 7 worked fine for me, I am wondering why I was so keen to upgrade. It will have to wait until I have some time off...
But for now, back with Windows 7, everything is working like a well greased wheel ;D
Thanks again. And I have no doubt that when I do upgrade to Windows 10 again, as Arnie would say: "I'll be back"!
OK, I am back...I have tried to upgrade to Windows 10 again and have the same problem.
I have tried opening the database directly from the folder (program files (x86) / Kinetic / BaseStation) and it still shows empty, even though the file size in windows explorer is over 57MB big.
I have clicked on the database and then "open with" and set it to Basestation Reporter with the same result.
Just to add, I have also tried looking at the database with the PBLink3 program and that is also showing the database as empty!
It's really annoying....
All I can suggest is I do a remote connection and take a look with you. Send me a PM if this is something we can setup at a mutually convenient time.
Thanks Anmer, will be in touch.
It really is weird though. I reinstalled Basestation as it said the drivers were not available. I hoped that might solve the issue, but it didn't.
I saved the database I had used until now and let it setup a new database, which is still showing as empty in both Basestation Reporter and PBLink3. But, when I opened ActiveDisplay it was happy to update the unknowns for the short session I had let run just after I reinstalled and was also happy to create a log session for me, proving beyond any doubt (not that I had any before) that the database is not empty...
I figured out what was wrong....I have to open Basestation reporter in administrator mode :)
Thanks for all your help and suggestions!
Mike
Good to know it's sorted and thanks for letting us know what fixed it.
