Hi,
I have recently re-installed my SBS1 on my Windows 7 laptop due to a new SSD. I have got it up and running OK apart from Operator column is not displaying the logos unless I manually click on the entry and enter the 3 letter operator code. When I do this it displays OK.
I have checked that the default folder (C:\Users\Andrew\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Kinetic\BaseStation) is updating OK when I manually input as it increases the KB on my Basestation.sqb file (currently on 169,662KB, it was on 168,871 when I copied my old file into the folder).
I have also downloaded AD Lite and this seems to be populating OK but it is not auto populating the BS/SBS1 display (all logos appear correct in AD Lite, status is running and it says 572 have been populated. I have checked the pathing of AD Lite and it is to the default folder as above.
Countries DAT file is in BS folder 45KB.
Any support on this would be appreciated.
Regards,
Andy P
How did you reinstall BaseStation? Did you do a fresh install from a CD file or did you copy backed up folders and files? If so what were the primary folder locations that you copied?
You say the logos are not displaying. When you view an aircraft record without logos are other fields populated, such as registration, type and owner?
This was re-installed using backed up files & folders. I copied everything in C:\Users\Andrew\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Kinetic\BaseStation, however I downloaded some more recent files and overwrote them into that folder including operator flags and silhouettes (I can see these displaying OK in AD Lite). However this morning since switching laptop back on my Basastation.sqb file that went up to 169,662KB following my manual inputs has now returned to the original 168,871KB.
My SBS1 is displaying all selected columns correctly other than the Operator column that is only displaying a small number of the logos compared to what I had, and yes the records without operator logos display flags and other fields correctly in most cases.
Thanks.
What is the size of the backed up sqb file that you used for the reinstall?
168,871KB
Create a temporary folder and copy the backed up sqb file to it. Then copy the sqlite.dll from your BaseStation folder to the temp folder and the BaseStationReporter.exe file to the same folder and then double click on the exe to open your backed up sqb file. Do you see OperatorFlagCode data as expected?
Not sure I've fully understood instructions (got the right .exe file) but it has not worked in any case
1. Create a temporary folder somewhere.
2. Copy your backed up sqb file to this folder.
3. Copy the sqlite3.dll file to the same folder
4. Copy BaseStationReporter.exe file to the same folder.
5. Double click on BaseStationReporter.exe in the temp folder and it should launch and display the contents of your backed up sqb file.
6. Check that the aircraft records in the backed up file are showing OperatorFlagCodes.
I'm trying to check if the problem is your backup/reinstall process or the source sqb file.
OK, that's what I did but I get an error msg saying "Database does not yet exist...you must run the Basestation app before running this app", then I click OK and next error msg says "Access violation at address 005364D0 IN MODULE 'BaseStationReporter.exe'. Read of address 00000050."
Right click on the sqb file in the folder and look at Properties. It may be blocked because it cam from another computer.
It says full permissions OK
Can you post a screenshot of your temp folder showing all the files?
Had to email it from another device so have attached screen shot embedded in email, hope that's ok

Thanks.
It will help you and I if you could set the folder options to display file extensions.
But looking at the screenshot, you don't appear to have a BaseStation.sqb file there? Hence the error message.
I have set folder options to show extensions. The folder is exactly the same but with the .exe etc. Should I copy .sqb file to tempfolder?
You only need these three files. Make sure the sqb is your backed up one.

Yes these are the 3 files I have. How do I ensure sqb is backed up?

What I'm suggesting is that you copy to this temp folder the sqb file that you say you had backed up before you did your reinstall. We need to check that the sqb file you're now using is the same as the one you originally backed up with the OperatorFlagCode fields populated.
Really appreciate your help, thank you. I have copied .sqb file into temp folder and opened up reporter ok but no logos showing in there. I've also tried the sqb file from x86 program files and same outcome. Really confused now, it appears I've lost my original back up. What is the best way to get a pre-populated file into the correct place to rectify the situation as I'll be manually entering codes forever?
Where are your backed up files - USB drive or other portable drive?
I'd do a global search for all files with the extension .sqb. You might find your original one.
You could use an sql command to set the OpweratorFlagCodes for known operators if you have that field populated.
Already tried searching to no avail, the files were copied by someone who replaced my old hard drive for a new SSD so will be on old drive but can't get into it easily.
Is using an sql command easily done?
Hi Anmer. I have located my original backed up folders & files as they are in a folder on my PC (the guy who did this for me just told me, he used my SSD in PC to copy old laptop drive). I can extract the relevant files but I don't know if the sqb. file in Program Files or Program Files x86 is the one to get?
The sqb file you need to copy is the largest one.
Not knowing your install path on the old PC, I'm not sure which was active.
What may help is to replace the one in the temp folder and take a look at it, using the same procedure I suggested earlier.
They are both exactly the same size:-)
In a defult install for Vista onwards, the active sqb file is in the Virtual Store and grows in size as records are added by BaseStation.
All I can suggest is you view each sqb file as recommended earlier.
