I can understand the need for a gas boiler or gas fire to be ventilated to the atmosphere via an exterior flue but can somebody explain why you can have in the kitchen a gas cooker which can have four or more hob burners,grill and oven all of which have no exterior venting whatsoever?
I am sure there must be a logical reason but it is something that has always baffled me.

I've just had a flueless stove installed together with a floor level vent that faces the prevailing south-west gales. Plus a CO detector.

Boilers and fires can be left unattended, running continually. Maybe the view is that hobs are not and the cook will open the required window.

Building Reqs demanded an extractor for the kitchen and utility but to remove moisture.
