Title: Raspberry Pi with FR24 - data logging question
Post by: fivestar on May 26, 2016, 11:08:33 AM
Hi guys,

I am pretty new to this sort of thing but I have managed to set up a Raspberry Pi which is with software downloaded from flightradar24's website. The setup is now configured and feeding FR24 with no issues. I don't have a screen to view the RPi so everything was done by SSH which I found fairly straight forward.

Now for the hard bit :)

My question is how do I log the data that the RPi is receiving. I have had a look around for some tutorials but I cant find anything that I can understand fully. Looking for a beginners guide :)

Thanks in advance guys

Cheers

Scott.

Welcome Scott.

Can you expand a bit on "log"?

Do you just want a list of a Mode-S messages received or something more useful like a database with hex codes matched to aircraft type, operator etc?
