Title: using two dongles - acarsdeco strange behaviour
Post by: tekmanoid on July 19, 2016, 10:53:34 AM
Has anyone else experienced weird behaviour with acarsdeco and dump1090 running simultaneously on the same linux box (with two RTL dongles of course)

I have re-programmed the EEPROM of the second dongle with a different serial number.

When dump1090 and acarsdeco are running with each dongle I notice that the acars decoder basically stops decoding (may get only occasional hits, although there are lots of acars-squitters)

Thanks for any help!
Alex

Is the RPi getting sufficient power for itself plus two DVB-T SDRs?

I am using an old HP Thinclient
(http://images.harlander.com/artikel/1000x1000/computer-pc-systeme-hp-t5730-.jpg)

Since the dongles draw ~ 150 mA at most each, while the USB specs are 500 mA it just seems strange it should be a power problem...

Sorry, I thought you were using an RPi.

I use an HP Micro Server with 2 ADSB Dongle + 2 für Acarsdeco2 and it works ok. The Server run still on 100%.  :-[
