Hi Frank,
I am using AD Pro and it works fine for populating a large proportion of my unknown entries. For example over the past few days it has successfully populated 47 entries with 19 remaining unknown.
The 2 features that don't work as they should are the routes lookup and the automatic download of photos from web sites.
The route look up can be made to work if you previously had routes in the AD database or if you manually enter them - see the post from paulm entitled "AD Routes not showing in Basestation".
If you have photos stored in the JPGPhotos file, these will still be displayed however the links for downloading new photos from Airliners, Jetphotos and Planepictures no longer work. The links can be manually amended in the Photo Links Form (in the Photos menu) if only someone could figure out what they should be. There is another thread in this forum on this but as far as I know, no one has figured out what the correct link addresses should be. Hopefully someone will before long.
In my opinion, AD Pro is still worth paying for but it would be nice if someone could figure out the correct links for the photos.
Regards
any alternatives for route lookup or populate that you know of?
frank
For populating unknowns in your database you could look at PBLink3 (http://planebase.biz/pblink) or dbpop (www.dbpop.co.uk). I am not aware of any alternatives for route look up.

PlaneBase seem to want either a sponsor or for me to grovel to them.
I don't have a sponsor and I don't like being asked to justify myself.
If you want money ask for it and I'll pay or not pay based on what I think the value is.
But I have to say the way the PB website is set up it has put me off them.
