I know there a few different types of usb leads to connect sbs 1 to pc, but the ones I have dont appear to fit
Anyone know the correct type so I can order one - I think it is the usb a micro b. Found 1 - sorted.
What model SBS do you have?
I have the SBS 1er.
However I have just been looking at the manual and think that maybe the lead I have is not the correct one as:
the usb orange enumerated light is out
the green connected to base station is out
and there are 2 blues on.

The SBS-1eR needs a USB Mini-B cable connector.
If you can see illuminated blue lights, you have power.
Have you launched BaseStation and does it connect to the SBS-1eR?
Yes, I have launched Base station, it goes into BaseStation configuration, I have entered lat and long, selected usb and when it gets to test configuration it fails. My antenna is not yet mounted on a mast. It is vertical a few feet above ground level. I have repeated the test a couple of times and have been waiting for traffic as indicated by plane finder to go by. I have visual contact with these, but it fails.
I was thinking that I should check the connectivity of my coax run, then erect antenna on mast.
When I installed Basestation, I did end up with it in the wrong area and I dragged it to where I wanted it.
Maybe I should delete Basestation and then do a clean install in the correct location.
The Basestation I have installed is the current download from Kinetic.
I presume my lead may be the correct one although not the original supplied one.
I failed to mention earlier that I also have the red light on.
When you launch BaseStation do you see any aircraft?
And have you got the USB drivers loaded?
Use Windows Control Panel and check if you have Beavis A and Beavis B in System-> Device Manager under USB?
There should be a file in your BaseStation folder called:
CDM20814_Setup.exe
Double clicking on that should load the USB drivers if they're not already loaded.

Thanks for your comments.
After I get through putting in lat and long etc, the connect test is carried out and fails.
Then I get the screen to report the failure and behind that is the radar screen but no aircraft.
I hope to try your advice later this evening.
Mnay thanks.
Mike,
Everything is fine now - thanks very much.
I deleted and reinstalled Basestation completely.
I activated the CDM 20814 as you suggested
and it brought it back to life.

That's good news.
Thanks for the feedback.
