Title: Taylor Made Pre Amp
Post by: goingaround on November 16, 2016, 01:44:53 PM
I am an "expat" living in SE Wales.
The local topography is like living in a dished area with mountains that are quite close taking up 220 degrees of my panorama.
I initially purchased my SBS 1er a few years back, but was not very impressed with what I could receive.
However I recently decided to re install my setup which consists of a 25 ft pole with a vertical co linear about 1 m long fed by westflex 103 about 28m of it with a quoted  loss of about 5 d/b ( for the length I am using).
Once I eventually got everything working I decided to get a Taylor Made Pre Amp.
I installed this over the weekend and what a difference. I haven't done polar plots or recorded the reception
over periods of time. The reception is quite directional and I am picking up aircraft leaving France, beyond Lands End and about 75 miles due west where I am screened by the bigger mountains.
I am very impressed with the pre amp and only wish I had purchased one earlier.

Thanks for the report.

Good to hear it was a productive purchase.
