Hi Billko
Sounds as if Magic is the airborne "flight comms unit"
Tom
Hi Tom Yes agree on magic doing the tracking. Have 3 scanners running when magic tx's no joy as to base.
Billko
re callsigns here from a dutch page
MAGIC is most likely airborne AWAC E3
BLACKDOG they show Tornado RAF 617 SQN
HOTSPUR Jaguar 6 SQN
unfortunately that page does not show any date of updating,
so not sure how current that is .
Jaguar aircraft sadly since retired from RAF service TrueTrack.
6 Sqn was the last Jaguar squadron and was disbanded in 2007.
There are 2 CRC in uk
Boulmer is Hotspur
Scampton is Blackdog

That's it what I feared
apparently they never did remove old obsolete entries or mark them as history
you may see for yourself
