I currently have my SBS-1 running on a Windows Vista set up and my intention is to instal/re-instal it on a another computer running Windows7. I would be grateful for any suggestions on the simplest way to achieve my aim.

It depends on your existing folder location. Is it in a Program Files folder?
If not, I'd copy your current BaseStation folder, sub-folders ad files to an external data source, such as a USB stick.
On the new PC, create a new folder "Kinetic" and copy the BaseStation folder, sub-folder and files to it.
Plug in your SBS and double click the BaseStation.exe file in the new folder location. Does BaseStation run OK?
Thank you for your reply Mike- From memory I think my BaseStation folder resides in the beloved by many Virtual Store :-\.Does this alter your advice in any way?

If you have a Windows default install, your "active" BaseStation.sqb file will be in the Virtual Store and you will need to copy this one.
I'm away from home without a PC (using Chromebook) so can't check if the ini file is there too.
OK Mike, this transfer is on my list of jobs to do when I get round to it!
Give my love to Texas and my regards to Mr. Trump should you happen to bump into him ;)

Just read your thread
If your old PC BS used the Virtual Store
you will find these 4 files as the current ones
Basestation.INI
Basestation.SQB
Basestationreporter.INI
Reference.SQB
all with a Datetime Stamp when you last run BS oder Reporter
while whereever Basestation and subfolders was placed
these 4 should be older and out of date.
If you are now not using Virtual store you may copy/replace by the current ones
just into where the complete BS Prog is located .
Hope this helps too
I am obliged to you Truetrack for that information

A further update on this for those who maybe interested I decided, before Microsoft finally pulled the plug,to take advantage of the free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10.I have to say that this upgrade was simple and trouble free and relatively fast, about 3 1/2 hours from initial click o having Win 10 running and so far so good.
So the next question is when it comes to moving my SBS 1 from the Vista computer to the Win 10 one are there any `nasties`waiting to ambush me?

I now have my SBS1 up and running on a Windows 10 setup.I opted for a new instal and all seems well with one exception I am unable to get the Operators Flag column in the aircraft list to display any information at all. From memory do I have to delve into the ini file and fine tune?

I'd use Acarslogger's excellent ALC:
http://woodair.net/sbs/Utilities/Kinetic_Utilities5_Utils.htm
Thank you Mike, will give that a go.

On this ALC program there is no dedicated Windows 10 tab to click on,does this work with this OS?

Shows its age Graham.
If you installed BaseStation in the default folder location, select Standard Vista Install. i.e you allowed Windows to use the dreaded Virtusl Store.
Mike- Acting on your suggestion it is now installed in C:/Kinectic/Basestation so I assume I opt for the non standard instal option?

G.B.
Yes, that looks good.
I,m obliged for your input Mike
