Title: Looking for suitable software
Post by: rookie_observant on February 06, 2018, 03:24:51 PM
Hello everyone.
I have recently been put in charge of a mode-s beast receiver, but I am having issues with the software used.
I have to download and store the information coming from the different airplanes over my area.
I have tried with modesdeco2, dump 1090, rtl 1090, virtual radar and base station.

Could you tell me which software you use to download and store data using the mode S beast?

I have 64 bit windows 10.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome.

I haven't used a Beast for many years.  But when I did, I ran it with PlanePlotter and a BaseStation.sqb database file.

I'm assuming the Beats outputs decoded data on a local port which feed Virtual Radar Server or ModeSMixer to interface with BaseStation.

But I'm sure others here will know better.
