Not owning an Apple Mac I can't check this out but there appears to be a new Mac compatible version of Basestation on the Kinetic website:

I'd be very interested to hear opinions from those who can try it out?
Hello Anmer,
I've installed the latest SBS_Macstation.. It is still very limited with options.
It is almost the same as the previous version in my opinion. It also becomes rather sluggish after a few minutes...
There is support for the SBS-3 now...

Thank you.
So it doesn't offer the same features as Basestation for Windows PC?
Does it support the beta ACARS as in Basestation 171?
Finally, does it offer any new features not found in Basestation for Windows?
I posted some screenshots of the application...
There is nothing much else you can see as what is provided in the previous screenshots.
I will investigate this version further more but i think this is it...
I cannot even remove the range rings...
Grtz,
Peter
Thanks Peter.
Very similar to the first beta.
Hi Peter and Mike
I have downloaded and used the Mac Version for the last four hours with no issue stability wise. It installed and found the SBS3 with no problem. Far easier then BS for PC.
Does what it intends. Though not very exciting as far functionality. However, its a good start. I hope 'Chris' if your listening you will take this project further, because it has real potential.

Other than stability and (from what I gather) partial Basestation functionality, is there anything extra or different? Would you swap the Windows version and rely entirely on this Mac one?
Mike,
The functionality is very limited, it is stable though, at this point I would not be able at all to swap my current software setup and use the Mac version.
All it is doing is reading data from the SBS3 and translating it in a very basic manner in a sort of BS like GUI.
I do like the box like data per a/c on screen. But thats really all it does.
Having said all this, if Chris is serious about developing the Mac side of the house further he could corner the market in a very big way!

Yes, I agree. The mobile phone/tablet portable platforms shouldn't be ignored either.
Hopefully the Mac version of Basestation might evolve and address some of the outstanding "wish list" items and subsequently get migrated to the Windows platform. Fingers crossed.
